Do you want to explain?

These guys are not unlike you CC, a legend in their own minds, the doer of deeds for the trade, and really just full of shi*t. Worst of all. They think no one can work them out, and like you, they are not that smart. :-|

Naa, I am a legend already, thats why your mate gets upset so much.

As for full of sh&t, I wager I help, freely, more people on a daily basis than you do in a year.

But its not about me, its about your deep seated issues. Have you seen a shrink, even I can see you have issues.

For the benefit of those who live in the real world...................

Skull is a shortened version of Garry's real nickname which was "screaming skull" as he is incapable of normal conversation, preferring to always shout, in the mistaken belief that it makes him right about everything.

He left the taxi company purely because he refused to comply with the radio rules of the company and when he was subsequently disciplined (£25 fine), he refused to pay it. The guy he drove for offered to pay the fine but "Screaming Garry" chose to leave the company in a feeble attempt to martyr himself, rather than accept that he was wrong.

Since then Garry has waged war on anybody and everybody who dares hold an opinion different to his.

He freely admits that he wants to destroy the taxi trade (not just the individuals who have crossed him).

The same skull who was at loggerheads with "Colky" is now working hand in glove with him (or at least he thinks he is!!) but Colky is just playing him for the fool he is. It, sadly is much the same with Jasbar and Colky.

As for the plate scam, there is a perfectly legal system in operation which facilitates the transfer of ownership of companies which operate taxi licences. The same system operates elsewhere without fuss unless the gutter press thinks it can invent a story and, as we saw, the 2 numpties then jump on the bandwagon. The truth never matters.

Neither Skull or Jasbar properly research their subjects but choose instead to make wildly inaccurate comments and claims based on what is gossip, rumour and innuendo.

The hospitals in Edinburgh still have contract with a taxi company. They are well aware of what the phc company are up to. Just because the ba'heids don't know about anything happening, doesn't mean that the rest of us are complacent and nothing has been, or is being, done!

First Fasties banned them then the taxiforum banned them so they are left with nowhere else but here to spout their lies. It's not their stupidity just their abuse of others that folks are appalled at. Unruly kids are better behaved than them

Keep taking the medication Swanee

Anyone doubt this pillock was the class shrinking violet, the regressed intellect that hung on the coattails of the guy who picked the footie team

Kisses for you sweet one

Quote:
Capitalism is about selling illusions to the masses in an attempt to enslave them to a dream they think is real. The truth is, ownership of anything is a pipe dream, and everything you think you own, actually owns you. Life in a capitalist society is about unthinking mindless units of production all chasing one dream or the other.

Capitalism is just one of many ways to sell illusions. Choose your dream, sell it, enslave. There are always going to be people who are more powerful and richer than you. I don't have issues with it tbh. I own what I own and I don't own what I don't want. Life in all societies have rules and regulations that some will not agree with we will never have a perfect society, people are far more complex than perfection.

Quote:
The direct debit monster needs to be feed, and almost everything has to be renewed or replaced at some point, and that costs. Your average punter pays with his arse but owns nothing that can't be taken away from him at some point, through illness, old age or a change in circumstances out with their control. That's not to say their family might not benefit, at least to some extent, but that's normally after they are dead and gone.

If everything has to be renewed than it matters not what society you are in it'll still need to be renewed or replaced and it will always cost. You do however have a choice you could always go without. You don't have to have anything you don't want.

Quote:
Ownership in any real terms is reserved for the Wayne Rooney's of this world. For the rest of us, it is merely an illusion to be dreamt about. That's not to say you shouldn't better your lot but “businessmen taxi drivers”, you've got to be having a laugh. Except for a few, most, don't even come close to owning anything let alone a taxi and plate.

Wayne Rooney has a talent that some think is worth paying an obscene amount of money for. It's up to them, the supporters, to allow this kind of thing. I personally wouldn't contribute to anybody earning that amount of money for playing football, obviously there are a considerable number of people who don't mind doing so. With regard to taxis it's a simple decision really. You decide if you want to drive a taxi, given the regulations within the area you wish to work or you don't want to drive a taxi. If you wish to work in an area with de-restriction then work there, your income won't be so good but you won't have to rent a vehicle with a plate on it, you however have to purchase some kind of vehicle. You could however work in an area that is restricted, your income may be higher but you may have to rent or buy a vehicle with a plate on it so it may involve an investment to get a better return. You get nothing for nothing in this world. You either invest your time, your money or both. If you don't like the trade you are dedicating your time and money to why would you do it, life is too short to be doing things you don't like if you don't have to.

Quote:
If you win the lottery tomorrow night Toots, then maybe you can claim ownership of yourself. At least you won't have to wake up in the morning to feed that illusion any longer.

Or why not audition for the the X Factor?

Not much chance of winning the lottery cos I don't gamble on it. Also I have no desire to entertain people on the X Factor, primarily because I can't sing. I already own myself and whatever else I want at this moment in time.

We could even discuss the 8K loss to CRT, that bought Jim and I a holiday.

Just like everybody else aren't you. Working the system for your own greedy means :-|

Toots, you are off on one again. How do you manage to come out with this tripe? Your response is not a carefully thought out balanced critique of what I have written. I suppose you could call it an opinion of sorts, but not much more than that. Even the relevance of your “opinion” in response to my post is stretched to the maximum.

So let's encapsulate, your “opinion” seems to be. If you don't like the system then move to another part of the country. Where inequality, discrimination, and exploitation don't exist to the same extent as it does in Edinburgh. However, if you want to stay in Edinburgh, buy a public licence that you can never own, live in fear of de-restriction, and hope the council doesn't pull the plug before you can find a mug to buy you out.

In short, buy into the illusion of a businessman, live in fear and become a slave of the council.

I'm getting the feeling we are right back where we started.

You could always look at it the same way as a shop keeper would when they rent premises, it's no different. As I said if you don't like it that much perhaps you should have used your £8,000 to battle in court with them instead of wasting it on a holiday. The other alternative is go into a trade that doesn't bug you so much. Whichever you choose to do or not do is entirely up to you. Btw it's only an illusion if you don't see the truth

£8,000 and you took a holiday. No battle with the council, at least not til the rate payer is paying for it via legal aid and you have the cheek to call others scum
