How long until some council jobsworth is using them to see who's smoking in their cab or what drivers are saying about their LO.........

When asked to represent a member at the Hack Committee, discussion often takes place in my "office" or his/hers.

My "office" is the rear of my cab.

Plus, I may be lined up with Nidge.

I'm rapidly going off the idea now.

No idea, but I think the only people moaning about cab drivers smoking in cabs are other cab drivers.

Just a couple of abuses the CCTV could be used for. I have no objection to it in principle but I think we need safeguards before we all rush to support something which could ultimately be used by petty people for their own reasons.

I think a complaint would need to be made, and officials investigating said complaint could only view the data around the time of the complaint.

And after 28 days it all gets re-written over anyway.

That would depend on the system surely?

The officials are only interesting in what happen at the time period and not an hour before.
I have 3 cameras in the vehicle, installed over a year ago. To me the front cam facing outwards is a great tool to have. Pick up everything that happens in front & front sides , it has a 179 degree angle lens

mine overwrites on the 30 th day

Sussex, where does it say that?

Is it in RIPPA regulations or something?

You can operate a system that stores for less than 28 days without a license.

More than 28 days requires a license.

I appreciate your reply and I don't disbelieve you, but it brings me back to "where does it say that?"

Because the Data folks told me years ago in a very long e-mail which I can't find at present.

However maybe the proof is in the eating as there have to be 1000s of CCTV's in cabs nationally and I doubt any of those owners have notified the ICO.
