Word in CEC is they are encouraging LRT to increase night time services too every 1/2 hour and more services at that!!!

Why not i say :)

Bus drivers have no choice, LRT and the council need the money and policing night time services is actually easier than during the day.

So Taylor all your crusade does is make the council come up with alternatives, CEC won't de-restrict, you know its to costly for them to de-restrict.

Finding a Balance is the way ahead, i think CEC is getting there :)

it doesn't surprise that lrt want to expand their business

it does surprise that their competition (you)want them to expand.
rather than compete.
then again maybe not

he was ripped for it.
you have the luxury of hindsight and you still repeat his words.

Dougie is just crassly stupid.

And what he fails to realise is that LRT is hard up against it, just like the rest of us.

It's about to be handed the subsidy junky that is the trams. This means that trams will be cross subsidised by other bus services. Which will bring the imperative for the council to ensure that the other services they run are cost effective.

Running a £400 grand bus around, burning up diesel, with few paying passengers on board is hardly sound commercial sense.

Dougie appears not to realise that these buses are already running a half hour service. The service is more likely to be reduced than expanded.

But for Dougie to advocate buses rather than taxis? FFS.

BTW The night buses were running when both the two cases of sexual assault happened. Bus services did not prevent them.

So, the council is still not off the hook.

Dougie's problem is that he just can't see the wood for the trees. He's fighting a losing battle here, and can't realise that everyone else is resigned to de-restriction - which is the situation in over 75% of other LAs.

The games up Dougie. Get it?

What we're going through is the mechanics of making it happen to protect the council from feckwits like you who may be tempted to take their beef to Law.
