strange that a man who pens under the name the reiver, should support regulation.

perhaps he's just a romantic dreamer like dougie...are you wayne.....are you????

The chances are the ancestors on CC's side of the family were a bunch of treacherous [edited by admin]. They probably fought the council for their plates, re-restricted the market and sold them on for a profit. Well, you know what these sheep shaggers are like. It's one rule for them ...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was referring to your ancestors. Do you think rape was reasonable back then also, CC? I ask, because you're obviously the expert in such matters. :)

I never said rape was reasonable.......I stated Edinburgh's policy of regularly surveying demand was reasonable.

Indeed mad Jim even has the front to only partially quote a Judge to further his pitiful aims;

"What she did not need was the nightmare experience which followed, an experience for which you were entirely responsible."

Whether I support a system or not isnt the point, the fact is you have sold plates as has Gary and I have never sold a plate.

Similarly with mad Jim's lies regarding Scottish Best Practice Guidance, which reading it, is very much stronger than the English version in respect of limitation of numbers.

The Scottish Government takes the view that decisions as to the case for limiting taxi licences should remain a matter for licensing authorities in the light of local circumstances. However, licensing authorities who presently restrict numbers of taxi licences should periodically review this policy

Of course I waste my time in writing this because you Gary and mad Jim have closed minds.

Best Wishes

CC

I'm taking advantage of nobody.

I want to know why this article is creating such a fuss?

Could it be that local authorities have little spare cash and selling cab licenses could a be feasible way of increasing local government funding?

Could it be the spin on it would keep a care home open?

Now that system would surely end it for the carpetbaggers at the very least

Come to think of it a Kiddies Nursery with images of children crying.

Remember this story in the press?

Southampton cab driver to make huge profit on taxi licence

THE owner of a new Southampton taxi plate is trying to sell it for a £30,000 profit just weeks after it was virtually given away by the council in a lottery-style draw.

Shouyb Mohammad Yaqub beat 342 other applicants to win one of four £180 Hackney Carriage licences issued in December.

But he has now put his money spinning taxi plate, together with a £25,000 seven-seater wheelchair friendly taxi, on the market for £55,000.

Defending the sale of the plate and Citroen car, a‘59 registration with 5,000 miles on the clock, Mr Yaqub said: “It’s a good deal. I will sell to whoever wants to buy it.”

Last night taxi trade chiefs accused him of profiteering and said he could have prevented a genuine driver from entering the trade.

What you stated was within the context of a debate on young women being raped.

Your comment was not made in isolation. Therefore, your assertion was as long as the council carried out a demand survey “rape is reasonable”.  :D
