Dundee taxi drivers ....

The Dundee Taxi Association, spearheaded by "Toys out the pram" Tony "Stationtone" Watters is trying to steal your rights from under you.

They are working to make sure that you work for them, as their chattlels, and that you will be denied access to the tools of your trade, if you ever decide that you want to drive your own vehicle, be your own man or woman, in the interests of your own family.

We've asked stationtone to tell us how what they're proposing - to restrict taxi licences - will benefit you, the driver.

Of course they can't. Because they don't care about you, they care only about themselves.

A cap will mean their licences will accrue a value. The scarcity of plates will mean they WILL charge YOU more for the privilege of driving for THEM.

You will be bound to pay whatever rentals the shortage they've created dictates you will have to if you want to work.

The increase in costs will lead to increased tariffs for the customer. Work will fall off as a result. Owners will NOT reduce their rentals. You pay the same for less reward. YOU always do.

For owners you pay up or ship out, to be replaced by other "serfs" who have to rent because they can't get their own licence.

YOU are the underclass.

Politicians like Joe FitzPatrick - Dundee West - don't exist to serve the underclass. Their role is to pander to the MIGHTY. And he will help create that "MIGHTY". And it won't be you.

But I guess you already know this.

But there is something you CAN do. Email yor councillors now, and tell them that you oppose any restriction of taxi licences.

Refer to the News of the World article. The Dundee Courier. Taxi Driver Online - Scottish Section.

Then you may just like to consider how and if you vote at the forthcoming Scottish Parliamentary elections.

How has Joe FitzPatrick, or the SNP, served YOUR interests?

So why are the WAVs in Dundee so old compared to the saloons?

Wait a moment, ah yes thats right, the cost of a new one, decline in punters, increase in plates issued, therefore not cost effective for a new wav. Saloons are half the cost, double manned too. Dont wanna debate, but these self appointed spokespeople just waffle on and on. No one has either asked me my opinion or even a debate, but have appointed themselves as good citizens and their opinions and ideas are right. surely if anything is said then it should be factual . :-o

All you have to do is think about the future. YOUR future.,

Do you want your potential curtailed by vested interests?

Or do you want to keep YOUR options open to allow you to do the best for YOUR family?
