No nominations for cab drivers' accolade
AN award to honour Derby's best cab drivers has been axed after no one was nominated for the accolade.
Derby City Council's licensing committee wanted to introduce the Cabbie of the Year award for the first time this year.
The deadline for nominations was January 21 and a winner had been due to be decided last week at a meeting of the licensing committee.
But members at the meeting were told no one had come forward with nominations and so the idea was shelved.
