Cllr Dhillon said: “I can’t really comment but I am disputing it, so it will all become clear in court.

“I have instructed my solicitor and barrister and this will be defended very vigorously.”

In a previous life I remember a chap called (now Sir) Allan Green saying something very similar after he was arrested kerb crawling down the cross.

He was the DPP at the time.

He resigned soon afterwards.

Wrong shade

Wrong place, me thinks you're thinking Bristol

FFS Ms Toots!!

Turbans are colour coded according to area of origin.

Didn't you know?

What differance does that make?...obviously half the Turban wearers are not so keen on where they originated from and more interested in being here in the UK...in which case a Union Flag turban might reflect their true ambitions..

Sssshhhhhuuussshhhh!

I'm on a Ms Toots wind-up!!!

May'be he is going to claim he was carrying out some undercover Council work to check out Illegal touting...and the best way to do so was by touting Illegally...Very Slippery some councillors are.

Baldrick would have been proud of such a [edited by admin] plan!!!

Ex councillor cleared

FORMER Slough councillor Balwinder Dhillion has been found not guilty of illegal taxi touting.

Mr Dhillon of London Road Slough, had vowed to clear his name after being arrested and charged by police in relation to an incident in the Smithfields area of London, on Saturday, February 26, where Mr Dhillon allegedly picked up an undercover police officer in his mini cab.

The one time Conservative ward member for Upton, appeared in the City of London Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Police claimed Mr Dhillion had been flagged down by officers but he insisted that he was lost and had pulled over to ask directions.

He pleaded not guilty and after hearing evidence magistrates decided the 55-year-old was found innocent.

Mr Dhillon said after the court case: "This incident has cost me dearly. Firstly, financially - I had to consult with my legal counsel and three barristers. Secondly, in terms of emotional distress. What I have had to endure these past four months has been, without question, one of the most distressing experiences of my life in this country.

"Being charged for an offence that I didn't commit. I am relieved that the magistrates court found that there were compelling grounds and evidence and found me not guilty for this alleged incident." He added: "We are fortunate to have one of the best and world class police forces in the United Kingdom. 99.9% of our police officers are very good and do a first class job under very difficult circumstances. But a very small minority of police officers do exist that damage the good reputation of the police force, as has been proven to me most recently."

Mr Dhillon has now retired from taxi driving and plans an extended holiday with his family.
