As for Jaspar thinking the scots subsidise the english......hmmmm, aint so sure about that.....how many people live in scotland? Is it about half the population of London?

Personally I think the Scots should have independance.....so long as you take back those relatives of mine

i am sure cc that some arrangement can be made about your relations if we could get independence

Yeah, we have a few historic parts that were originally leper colonies. We could house a few of CC's scabby scum there.

Now let me see, how many oilfields are located off the English coast?

Simple fact is that the Scots can and do travel all over this planet and are univerally respected.

The redcoats on the other hand ....

BTW I'm not anti English. A fair proportion of my family have boosted the English economy for many years. My granny was herself a Yorkshire lass.

I'm just opposed to the genetic neanderthals like CC who can't see what side their bread's buttered on and wax lyrical in a myopia of xenophobia.

The old adage is true. Scum is scum.

Its no wonder we travelled all over the world....Life here in Scotland has always meant hardship and foreign lands offered us an escape.

Many Scots still migrate and work all over the globe, but I fear that the reason we do so these days is just to get away from this loony SNP scottish parliament....Salmond and his disciples should stick to selling Shortbread and portraying Scotland as Brigadoon and then leave the real politics to the Conservative party or anybody else for that matter.

Can any serious political party honestly rely on a few wind turbines to keep the country going??, The SNP are anti Nuclear power and Anti everything, they only thing they aint averse to is raising income tax by upto 5 pence in the pound........A bunch of nutters the lot of them, Sadly Scottish labour is little better than the SNP and you can hardly tell their policies apart. Oh man..Its Hobsons choice at its very worst.

I fear you're not wrong.

S cotland is riddled with vested interests and cliques. It was the actions of a clique that led to the Union of the Crowns in 1707., A band of brigands cutting a deal to suit themselves.

Those who hold power in Scotland are the worst sort of parochial control freaks. I wouldn't want them to gain any more control. I'd rather be controlled from Brussels than be subjectd to unfettered subjugation by our petty bureaucrats, captains of industry and politiiians intoxicated by their own purpose and who repreent no one but themnelves.

And that BK is why we export our talent all over the globe.

Perhaps the real Scots are those who had the b alls to leave.

So, the jackboot of the parochial SNP, who are promulgating a politics of the 19th century, is not for me.

But the rest are just clones of the same. They exist to control, not benefit us.

That's why I'll be voting "none of the above". And a definite NO to AV.

It was the parliaments which were united in 1707. Until then, this was still an independant country. As you say, sold down the river by a few vested interests for their own reasons and very much against the will of the people..

The Union of the Crowns was in 1603

It all Academic...how far to do you take the "What Ifs" back to?? the Union of the crowns, the Normans, the Vikings or the Dinosaurs....

No point in pondering the past, its more realistic to make the best of Today!

I've often wondered why such a xenophobic race as the English went to so much trouble to conquer a quarter of the world? :?

These days it looks like the tables have been turned.

Well here's a clue Toots. It sure aint the English.

I already know that, you must think I'm as daft as you  I was merely suggesting it wasn't because of the Scottish

Quote:
Toots. You should be ashamed to be English. I'm ashamed for you. because you're Little Englander mentality has saddled us with Little Scotlander plonks like Private Reggie, the cretin formerly known as Dougie Brown.

Well I'm not ashamed to be English so you needn't bother yourself being ashamed for me

Our airport is owned by the Spanish. The same Spanish who have edged into BA. My power supplier is also Spanish. Insurance companies Dutch. Our tram line is (not) being built by Germans.

So Scotland is doing really well then with the investment from other countries

Quote:
I blame YOU Toots. Your cancer of blind compliance to an unjust Monarchical control structure has left us bereft of any global future.

You blame ME, wow. You idiot it has nothing to do with me. Society is ruled by those that have power. Power changes hands all the time. As they say all men are created equal but they certainly don't stay that way for lots of reasons. You know very little about me so don't judge what my complaince may be just because you believe my opinion regarding the taxi trade is wrong.

I KNOW that you're one sad guy who hides behind the ID of a female.

Because NO female would come out with the tripe you do.

And that's why yu're despicable.

And easily controlled.

Your servility just makes it harder for the rest of us to achieve justice.

Now go away and leave things Scotland to real Scots.
