Skull.. oh what a fantasy world you live in.. should I be drawn into your madness... I think not.... next you'll be telling us how you were peacefully living in your log cabin. when one day you were captured, and taken in chains to become a driver of a taxi and forced to do so against your will, you read too many fantasy books. get on with your life.... and stop dwelling on the fact that you have just wasted the last 20 years of it.. it just wasn't meant to be... you are not a leader of men... you're not somebody then inspires confidence.... or trust..... you were given a free licence.... and lost it... need more be said.

Trevor, I have witnessed it time and time again. Some feckwit puts himself forward and once elected, can't do enough to represent his own interests, and you and Wayne (Uncle Tom) Casey are no different. For some people, it starts with blowing about their new found, position of importance, to their wives. Then it's the extra cash and not driving a taxi. Soon it becomes about being recognised as a man of status and influence within their own minds. Sit these ers*holes in front of a bunch of councillors, and they are wan*ing all over themselves. Any possibility of proper representation goes right out the window.

You are slightly different in that respect. I think you fell into it through being a mechanic but the result is the same. I've even had the misfortune of being on holiday and having to listen to an er*e from West Lothian giving it large about being a “businessman” taxi driver. This was before West Lothian pulled the plug.

How is it, that with all this representation over the last twenty years things have only gotten worse in every respect? It's no accident that almost everyone making money out of the taxi trade doesn't drive a taxi.

Dignity, worth, rights, professionalism and Toots, and Dougie Smith, and Swannee you just couldn't make it up.

You are a parasite Trevor, and you prey on the stupidity of others. I take my hat off to you. You and these ers*holes were made for one another.

I should imagine the Taxi trade further into the Victorian bowel than it already is without the efforts of T and W and all else like them. If they push their chests out in pleasure should they get a result its not for the likes of you Skull to belittle them....So Mr Skull, what good exactly have you done for the trade apart from egressing?

Nothing, nil, nought a big fat zero........ yet he still thinks he's superior Perhaps it's best that people just humour him

Nemesis, do you believe Trevor and Wayne, to be selfless in representing the taxi trade? Without hesitation, they would sacrifice their interest for the greater good. And would stand by anyone wronged by the system as a matter of principle.

You don't really believe this to be the case, do you?

The “democratic” system in this country is a colossus of power and control. It is not set up to deliver proper representation to the masses. It only empowers those who serve it to represent their own interests and that of big business. In short, the system is designed to create a political class. Its purpose is to grind out illusions to control the general public, the Taxi Trade being a case in point.


Trevor and Wayne only play the game at their level.

I have no real problem with what they do, but you can't expect me to accept their bull*hit along with everyone else.

Incidentally, the Challenge to the C.E.C started with me and a few others about seven years ago. I have been involved directly and indirectly with a number of taxi drivers being issued their plates. I have represented individuals before the council, written letters to get people off the hook, and I tell it how it is. I leave the bullshit to the Uncle Toms'.


Depending on what you perceive as being "good" for the trade, I would say I've done more than my fair share.

Skull.. don't you ever get sick of making a fool out of yourself... I have never said that I don't represent my own interests... only you say that... but often my interests and the interests of the drivers around me are the same ... and when this occurs I have their support.... and as usual without any knowledge at all about what I may or may not have been involved in.... you rattles on.... it is just this type of stupidity that takes the trade backwards.... you are convinced that I have a need to have a position of status and importance....ha ha ha.. how wrong you are... that means nothing to me.. the same as your rantings.....but... you're quite right... there are many people that should never represent the trade...... and right at the top... is you....

Then why on earth undo some of that progress, no matter how small or large it may be, by launching a seek and destroy to those who are in the same canoe you were paddling not so long ago? There are enough self destruction merchants in our industry, most egged on by dutiful LO intent on divide and conquer...others to satisfy a very short sighted brownie collection. You sound too intelligent for that!

So if driver interests conflict with you and your chums on the council there arse out the window, of course, unless your “interests and the interests of the drivers around me are the same “.

Well, that's very honest of you, Trevor, is it the same for Wayne (Uncle Tom) Casey of the NTA?

Oh and as for the trade going backwards, you've only to look at the Neanderthals driving taxis that believe in the likes of you and Wayne, to know, that its never gone forward.

I can only make this comparison........ year after year people from all over the country ring Wayne for Help and advice which he gives ....... and then compare him with yourself which people ignore...... I think it would be fair to say that the vast majority of taxi drivers have the ability to think for themselves and make their own choices..... if that in your opinion makes them Neanderthals what does it make you.

You can't help people who don't want to be helped. Even if what they do is to the detriment of everyone involved. It is hard to let go of an illusion which has served you well for many years, especially one you have bought and paid for.

Trevor and Wayne are as much, products of the system as those who bought a plate, everyone buying into the same illusion at different levels and all dependent at least, to some extent, in keeping it going.

Unfortunately, Nemesis, the system serves the councillors and the Uncle Toms. The herd only gets the scraps and slapped down when they step out of line.

As I said before, "Trevor, how can we, help you to help us to help yourself, to help them?” This system is about control and self-interest.

It's a nice wee story for when one is on the golf course with councillors, in the pub with chums, or with the wife and kids on a day out, a quiet night in front of the fire perhaps but not with me, Trevor.
