You keep saying work and takings are down and worse each year
When I did my tax returns this year, for past 6 years my takings have risen each time. Except 2 years ago when the economic downturn hit my takings where fractionally less and have continued to rise this year also going on a monthly average
You shouldve tried broadening your horizons skull when driving instead of going back n forth to Haymarket. Tried to get a job in a radio circuit, where 80-90% of my daytime work comes from. Mustve been disheartening to get a Haymarket to George St after a half hours wait then wait another half hour to get a Murrayfield. Where as guys in circuits drop off and would get a radio job after dropping off
Yeah? And when you're chasing bogeys when there's a glut of work on the street. Circles tumshie. What goes round comes around.
As for accounts, well you make them what you want. You have bills you work to earn to pay them. I n an economic downturn you work longer to compensate.
As for shaking hands with Dougie, well what I wrote was intended as a joke. But you tumshies don't have any sense of humour.
As for my "predicament"? Well this is a direct result of my rights being breached by you tumshies protecting your illusion.
Sad thing is that what you're stoically defending is unsustainable. It breaches every tenet of political decency and the changes are aleady on their way to take your illusion from you. You're going to be forced to operate just like everyone else, the market will decide how many taxis there are in the fleet.
But what makes me laugh is the banale attempt to claim that things were better years ago because there were fewer taxis.
Haven't you noticed the extra 1000 taxis posing as private hire? Had the growth in the taxi fleet been properly managed, or market forces allowed it to expand, PH would be negligible, instead of now controlling the market, particularly pricing.
Take the social work contract for example. They undercut your price, they win the contract. They win.
They undercut your price, force you to tender even lower, you win the contract, they still win. Because they've cost you big time.
And while you're off the street doing uneconomical work, they're expanding their fleet to meet the demand you can't service.
All the status quo has delivered for drivers are companies who cut to the bone, knowing that its the driver who is paying. It's the driver who is subsidising major corporations, the NHS, government etc.
And all you tumshies can do is bleat on about Taylor and Skull, believing us to be the bogey men.
Well, get this. We've done nothing to affect anything in this trade. What we have now is what has always been. None of your grief is down to us. That you can't work this out for yourself is because you need someone to blame for the mess we're in. So you blame us.
All we've achieved is to destabilise your thinking, expose your illusion, and your flaws and cause you to worry about the future y can't get to rips with.
But not one of you tumshies can bring yourselves to open your minds to the trade's threats and work to resolve the issues. You can't see beyond the vested interests. Rather than confront them you happily shell out big time just to join with them. Which is why things just keep getting worse. Like we're at the bottom of the tariff table, underselling our labour.
You lot need to grow up. Get real.
Which is why I laughed at the pathetiuc child that is KevinYoung. The fact that you have to depend on tumshies like him and Dougie and longshanks and fairplay and others, most of whom can't bring themselves to put their names to their childish opinions? There's really no hope for you. Which is why we larf our corks off at you.
And why its only a matter of time before reality smacks you in the gob.
