I live on the West Coast, we rarely get the conditions that require Air-Con here, but I do carry an Umbrella in the Passenger compartment. I haven't factored-in the extra weight of that!

My new shape (09) E7 Sx costs 17.3p per mile. No idea on MGP or MPL, can't be arsed to work it out.

how on earth are you calculating pence per mile if you dont know mpg figures? I think your vehicle does 40 mpg, according to figures Ive seen, which is really really good!

I think he is starting with a full tank of fuel, working his shift and refueling. he then divides the cost of the fuel by the miles covered and that will give you the pence per mile figure.

And given the variation in fuel prices over time that's not much good for comparing fuel consumption over time or between vehicles.

Thelodger, it's just as easy to divide the mileage by the litres shown on the receipt, which gives your actual fuel consumption in miles per litre.

And multiplying that figure by 4.546 gives you the mpg.

Because I share the costs of my car, I do days, my mate does nights, I refuel all the time and at the end of every week we simply total up all miles and the cost of buying fuel, then divide it, so my mate knows how much to pay me.

We do 50/50 on all other costs, like tyres and repairs and servicing, as well as insurance and plate fee's.

Theres no Lti group on the biggest MPG website

http://www.spritmonitor.de

ask them to add Lti and variants and start entering data

What about the cost of the fuel when he has the engine running all night because he is cold and you don't run it all day because the sun is shining?

Calculating the cost per mile is a total waste of time.

To my way of thinking it makes more sense to calculate the "Cost per £1 Earned" , this will vary from Summer to Winter but take into account time spent on the Rank and keeping yourself from freezing.

My Peugeot Tepee runs at just below 20% in winter and improves to about 16% in the height Summer.
