And in most manors the restricted trade will still take on any driver who wants a shift, so where's the restraint in supply?

As per your example, there may be a restraint at certain times, but overall there's not.

And in my manor I doubt if all the cabs are ever utilised at any one time, purely because they can't get the drivers.

Then you have a nice 'manor'.

I guess your target isn't £30 per dayshift?

Drivers that work too many hours... are usually a danger to themselves and others... I take it your happy with that.

Maybe without plate premiums of up to £100,000 to pay back they wouldn't need to.

It's not me who's taking on drivers even when everyone's earning Jack, it's your ilk.

And I do remember the time you said that you worked so many hours and were so tired you used to hallucinate, so I wouldn't get all holier than thou about others working excessive hours [-(

He plucks his figures out of the air to make people think his way, there has only ever been one area where they got anywhere near that and iirc it's Newcastle, in his manor it's 40-60k which is to be expected given Brighton is now where London goes for the weekend, also iirc he quoted you Brighton having 1500 hacks in another reply, to the best of my knowledge and I will have to check it's around 600 not 1500, all the issues like Barons etc he will say are his reasoning fro de-restriction are infact PH barons, or they are here anyway.

The simple thing about it is, he's one of those that doesn't like to be told no and it gets his back up when that no means he can't have his own way, he's not a working cabby like most of us, it's a hobby job to him.

Perhaps they're doing it to pay for a plate or to make their excessive rentals.

How's your part-timers doing by the way?

Actually he said 1,500 drivers, not hacks.

And plates are around £100k in Aylesbury and Oxford.

Never heard of Newcastle having particularly high values, but it has been noted.

But you accuse others of picking figures out of the air?

Dusty, pull your pants back up and go make Sussex a cup of coffee, he must be exhausted the amount of times you picked up his soap lately.

Ok fair enough I misread it earlier it is 1500 drivers, which is 2000 less that we have here and his is a much bigger area with more affluent customers.

So the plates are only worth £30k now then?

And coupled to that high quality fleet of motors that Doom so admires as the product of restricted numbers?
