75 miles £12 (16p/mile)

i filled up today

580 miles £80 3.7p/mile)

but mine wasnt town stops/starts

£80 quid......sob.....

You need some new batteries for your calculator. 580 miles for £80 works out at 13.79 p per mile.

The problem is not with my abacus, although a couple of the green beads have broken off, but with my eyes. I only just saw the thread. 8)

Had a vectra cdti 150 for the last 3 years for private hire now on 195k miles wIthout any real problems
Had a clutch and flywheel at 142k and a new inner cv at 180k other than that just wear and tear stuff and servicing hell its still got original wheel bearings all round

Horrendous on fuel though lucky if I get 100 miles to £20 averages about 440 miles to a tank

Not really, everyone I know who runs diesels (skodas+mondeos) gets around the 20p/mile mark. Think yourself lucky, the ones running petrol pay about 28p/mile !

I add a wee bit of 2 stroke to my fill ups.

Use it in my vectra and the wife's 1.8 diesel focus seems to quieten them both down a fair bit
