The NTTG have thousands of pounds...... But Unfortunately a brain-dead Committee

I'm not a member of the NTTG but by all accounts nobody is :? If I had the fuel or the relay of taxi/ph drivers I'd do it, but, I don't. It'd only be like glorified leaflet dropping

FFS Miss Toots, don't get ahead of yourself!!

Who said anything about leaflets?

The thing I find quite frustrating is, that to my knowledge, there is no such thing as a national PH Drivers association and boy do they need one the way they are being sh*ted on!!

Hopefully, post new act, there will be fewer PH drivers to need representing.

The two main anti PH driver issues in the report are cross border and PH standards. Now I can't see the LC's PH standards thing happening, and lets face it the cross border issue is a nonsense, even if it helps raise standards.

You don't expect me to explain things surely, most people can't understand what I'm saying at the best of times and contrary to popular belief I don't actually like talking much

Well I've coped with a 100% unrestricted PH trade for a very long time, so I will take my chances with a 100% unrestricted taxi trade.

Of course you will..... with the London standards applying.... and no knowledge tests. and of course..... being under cut by the new national private hire company that has suddenly started in your area... charging half your rates =D>

Cross border issue appears to be staying; the LC guys at the Coventry Show saw nothing wrong with it, so will probably legislate to make it legal and acceptable.

Then this IMHO is where you should be concentrating your efforts. I suspect Griffen & co will get their way though, because the trade will end up worrying more about restrictions and plate values.

Why have you never swapped over ? If your happy with your lot why are you so for meddling with the other side ? The way this goes well all end up being a slave to the likes of griffin.Dont you get that 100 % of my work is street hails/rank work. You dont think unrestriction will dilute this ? In all likleyhood the only way to make a living would be on companys that have the lions share of the work, at massive discounts.A lot have gone this way allready can you see it getting better ?

Well I did dabble, but thought better of it.

But all this is not about me, it's about many 10s of 1000s of others.

Many of those 10s of 1000s I mention above are currently slaves to the likes of Griffin, and individual taxi owners.

I do get it, which is why I don't criticise folks for wanting to keep what they have. I just get the hump with people who criticise those that offer the alternative view.

Thing is forget the plate values a minute.(Because believe or not most people dont really think about it a lot here)You get a place like here where the vast majority of work is centred in a smallish radius, and also very seasonal. The vast majority of cabs are double shifted and just trying to get on the few ranks that actually have work is hard enough day or night.I cant see how unlimited vehicles can make it possible to earn money.Even ph here pay to be on companys,i dont know any that work independantly.Im sure you can appreciate everything is cutthroat nowadays and thats the way itll go more i fear.
