Comes with cloth seats I think on the S type, and anyways I use leather seat covers so if anything is spilled It is easily wiped up. And I hope everyone else uses them as they are ESSENTIAL

Never been a fan of em, cold in winter, sticky sweaty in summer and tends to crack, likewise alloy wheels are an issue, kerb one and its £200 to repair or replace, standard steels last far longer and cost £50 to replace maximum.

That's true one of the reasons I was concerned about the superb the 16" alloys as my octavia has 15" steel wheels, but was thinking of getting 16" steel's for it not a fan of alloys

Yes they are quite cold in the mornings and are boiling in the summer but like the fact that they are easy to clean, and get a new pair every 24 months but it is mandatory that you have seat covers on a taxi as it also raises the value of the car when come too selling it stops stains and wear and tear, and I never have a cover on the backrest of the rear seats but with this superb coming that I'm shelling £21,000 on you bet i'l be covering every inch of the interior

By how much? The 300,000 miles is more likely to affect the price when selling.

Was thinking that. It'll end up as a clapped out ex-taxi with very clean collapsed seats.

The car is brand new it is getting registered in January so will be a 2013 on a 62 plate so the discount I got brought it down a bit so the price should have been about £18600 . The model is a twin door (hatch),s type,in aqua blue, with optional spare wheel, 1.6 TDI. I was thinking of the greenline version but they haven't got any coming till late February and that's too late for me so just went for the normal 1.6

whats a "twin door" car?....

and the Beirut bodywork, worn out cheap tyres, exhaust smoke, non-working radio, juddering clutch and patches on the doors where the signs sat and holes in the dash for the meter...

i'v personally never kept a taxi past 160,000 miles, but if you have torn stained seats that's not going to help the value, especially the drivers seat on the outside edge with the driver getting in and out my current seat cover on the drivers seat it was badly ripped on the outer edge but luckily the wife got me some new ones for Christmas

a twin door is what all the superb hatch's come with they can be opened as a saloon and a hatchback so if you press the centre button on its own the car opens as a saloon but if you press the right button wait for the top brake light to flash press the centre button again and it opens as a full hatchback, google it very smart system

I think the point being made is that it makes little difference to the resale value, since it's pretty well worthless at the end of it's working life.

That's true a lot of the drivers up here don't get enough money for the car so they either scrap them or break it up and sell it in parts

Couldn't tell you some call it different a 4 door and others a 5 door but I myself class it as a 5 door as the last gen superb only came in a saloon guise and I didn't like the idea of that but all the new hatch superbs no matter what spec come with the "twin door" system :)
