Hi Grandad

I added that last minute....read on another forum that if your car/van has stupid CO2 emissions its crazy money to enter the Congestion Zone. So, not so much you "need" one but would help cost wise to have one fitted (might revise advert). :-)

Well as far as I am aware The emmissions of a vehicle do not effect the congestion zone. As far as I am aware, vehicles with 8 passenger seats or less are not affected by the low emmision zone either. If you search google for "low emmission zone" you can go to the TFL website where you can enter the vehicle registration number and find out if any vehicle is subject to the low ennission zone charges.

The signs say everyone pays, the law says London taxis and PH can apply for an exemption issued by the PCO.

I must ask, did you ever find what you were looking for in that all direction journey?

Those nice folk at TFL did send me a nice photo of my Octavia going across London bridge in a bus lane, i emailed them back thanking them for it and can they spot the deliberate mistake in the photo, they replied yes and no further action was taken they spotted the taxi sign on the roof

You was very lucky then because the exemption for taxis (non London), only applies to those licensed under the 1847 Act.
