I think the point was about the word "Islam" daubed on the bomber command memorial, and the student with his dick out pi$$ing on the war memorial, both being disrespectful.

Do we actually know the graffiti was done by Islamic extremists or even anyone Islamic? No, we don't.

That was the point of the post.

When I did my search for the guy p*ssing on the war memorial (weird the things I look for) - I found the following;

I think it comes down to what motivates a person to commit disrespectful acts like this, which is the determining factor.

Drunken ignorant student vs Islamic extremism

It is true. We don't have a culprit for the daubing the word Islam on a War Memorial. However, on the extremist scale of shouting about killing infidels and hacking their heads off, to the conclusion that Islamic extremism was behind the vandalism to the memorial, in some shape or form, it's not a huge leap of "faith" (pardon the pun). Even, if it was just someone stirring the shi*.

Oh and I doubt the student was thinking about kill infidels when having a slash in the wrong place... :-|

Oh and I doubt the student wanted to kill any infidels. :-|

Given your previous adoration of Mr Chomsky & Mr Pilger - I am highly surprised by your seeming blindness here.

It could well be that the press are manipulating public opinion - it could well be that the likes of the EDL are attempting to discredit.

A memorial in Northern Ireland was smashed about 2 weeks ago - no coverage whatsoever.

A Muslim OAP was brutally murdered at the end of last month - I wasn't aware of the murder - they're looking for two white men.

The EDL have apparently been linked

I take it CC, you did read the premise of my post. :?

I think it comes down to what motivates a person to commit disrespectful acts like this, which is the determining factor.

Oh and should point out it could have been a lot of things, but it was you who set the context of the thread by comparing the two.

I did post the two - to put the vandalism into context.

So, we all agree that both acts are disrespectful, but inevitably, it comes down to what motivates an individual to do such a thing. :-|
