Am I the only one who has issues with Autocab, we have been with them since 2003 and we just never seem to have hit it off it just seems to be one battle after another, they have just contacted me to renew the maintenance contract completely forgetting they had extended it due to previous problems.

I would be happy to show anyone the installation and equipment and talk through the problems we have encountered or am I just unlucky and should I believe all of the hype they spout about companies doubling their fleet?

We were with them for 6 years and when we wanted to update from the old D21 dataheads and upgrade our office PC's they wanted £17,000 just to change the PC's and approx. £700 per datahead. We jumped ship to DataMaster and it was the best move we ever made. We have so much more control over the system and if you want to customise it you just call them and if they can do it then they will, and usually for free!
They won't try and hard sell you, they don't need to as they have a large satisfied customer base that do that for them. When we told Autocab that we were moving they dropped their prices to what we were going to spend with DataMaster, which in my eyes loses all credibility. We've never regretted the decision. Look for Bill on here and PM him.

Thanks for that Westside I have already done that and having Datamaster installed next month, like you they want £18,200 just to replace the D21s, but it is also the service situation every time there is a problem they claim it is every one else's equipment that is at fault, and when it turns out to be theirs never an apology, they expect you to crawl around on the floor pulling out plugs etc while you are trying to operate, I paid £8000 for a an office system upgrade 3 years ago and last week they told me that some equipment was obsolete !

Nice one! I'm sure you won't regret the decision.

I wish our firm would swerve over to Bill and Datamaster but they keep that shit Mercury system by Exel running the show and bolloxing everything up.

What's the point in having a system if you can't put it on Auto Dispatch?

I have run midas/mercury for over 15 years now and it works fine BUT we have a simple set up with RADIOS it is only used to keep track of account work and advanced bookings

A;lthough their technical support can be a bit basic

They did an update on Friday, I mean Friday of all days?? Exel are the only ones who can update a system and make it run worse. They wouldn't know their bollocks from their eyeballs if hey had a week to think where they were.

They are a totally inept bunch of fuckin idiots.

Midas was Stuart Harding's software until Exel stole all the codes and ran it as Mercury.

I'd sooner spoon my eyes out with a rusty spoon thank you. I wouldn't recommend Exel to my worse enemy.

We use d21,s and the office have no intention of changing them, I personally want a newer system, I mean we have 300+ cars and £72 a week coming of each car, I'm sure we could invest in a newer system,

300+ cars paying in £72 a week, take away wages, running costs, TAX, VAT, Business Tax and rates.

It's not all take, take, take.
