The B.D.A told me that London council went the same way as Edinburgh.

I'm lucky never to have been diagnosed with the above, although there is some history of it from my mothers side (her brother caught it in Rhodesia as it was then), so i'm always concious of it.

I'll try to remember to call the LTDA on Monday and find out for all.

Good luck with your case Mr Skull.

Needless to say this is the first I have seen this. It probably gives you some idea of how parochial the whole aspect of being a Taxi driver in Edinburgh is.

All you ever here about is that bloody plate value and how there is “no unmet demand” while everyone is running faster on their little treadmill wondering where all the work is going.

I think the last thing Black Hacks would look at is a PH magazine even if it would do them some good. They pass the knowledge and then disappear up their own arse.

At first glance it looks quite good, I will look into it, thanks.

Have you got anything to do with this mag?

YES I OWN IT  :mr T ...

I'm pretty certain that most of, if not all, the councils in Sussex work they way the DfT guidelines point to i.e. each decision on it's own merits.

And well done to them for that. =D>

15 years, I have seen the mag but years ago but only considered it to be a Ph rag. Its certainly not popular up here at least not by the black hacks.

Not got any time today.

I spoke to another cabby last night he informed me a cabby with thirty years under his belt, is up on appeal at the council.

Monocular vision, he's out as well.

No, sold it on x wife and all that. I was in the last time it derestricted got the plate for nothing sold it, then a mate of mine got really ill had to buy him out and then sold the plate again.

And no, my views on de-restriction and quality control have always been the same. All restriction brings is a divided trade.

As you probably have guessed I don't like people holding control over me by what they threaten to take away, Councils, Councillors or anybody else for that matter.

Why do you ask?

Don't know how many cabs work Edinburgh from the outlying areas but this is compounding the problem in Edinburgh. The hacks are losing there call, and country work, forcing more blacks to work the streets. We are all fighting over the same bowl of Cherry's and theres less and less to go round.

The Edinburgh Festival finishes tonight and I will take a bet that the work takes a serious nose dive.

Off to my work!
