Hi, this is a follow on question from my previous post.

I was hoping there may be a London PH Driver who could give me a rough idea on weekly income. Some companies do quote earnings, however I am sure the reality is somewhat different and subject to many variations.

What I am looking for is a rough guide to what would be a standard income after 4 long days for example. I trust there is no set wage in the trade, unless you draw a salary, so please feel free to project a figure on a flat standard week.

Finally, as I would be self employed and responsible for my own hours would it be possible to work a long week ( say six or seven days ) to build a good income then take it easy the week after.

Thanks for any advice.

If you work a 20 hour day, for 7 days, about £300.

But you can sleep well knowing the MD and shareholders are doing nicely.

Ask Ollie or Blobby, i'm sure their both rich.

Thanks for reply.

Was your answer a serious one?

20 hours per day for seven days brings earnings of only £300???

So are you saying that a Private Hire Driver in London is earning about £2.15 per hour.

Based on your figures would you all not be better off ( time and money ) cleaning toilets, which pays minimum wage for a normal working week. I would question anyone who agrees to work seven days a week for 2 pound an hour. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Any further comments are read with interest as I am now confused and shocked.

I don't think he was, but I'm not that sure anyone will give you an accurate figure over the net.

If you have a good job at the mo, then keep it. If you want out then try PH for a while.

If you work on a good circuit and work crap hours then you will do just fine. If you work on an iffy firm 9am to 5pm then you wont.
