Not sure what it is about Veezu that means it's a taxi *tech* firm, although I suppose it's a bit closer to the Uber model than the average high street office.

This all reeks of the usual PR/comms stuff, though, what with a 'vibrant' office space, and a 'diverse and inclusive' workforce.

In fact they're all so touchy-feely it sounds like a high tech version of the Essex firm in the other thread

Nice to know some in the trade are doing well, though, but I wonder how the VAT and employment status stuff will pan out :-o

Veezu has invested in a new HQ at the Hodge House office scheme in the centre of Cardiff

The UK’s fastest-growing taxi and private hire tech platform, Veezu, has moved to new corporate headquarters in the centre of Cardiff.

The company, which has acquired a significant number of taxi firms across the UK since being established in 2013, remains on track for further acquisitions and is seeking to raise additional finance to support its growth strategy.

The business, which also has a growing number of contracts with the education and health sectors, has relocated to the 110,000 sq ft Hodge House office building, which has undergone a £17m refurbishment from its owner L&G. Veezu was previously been located in Newport.

The company directly employs 550 staff and partners with more than 12,500 self-employed tax drivers across the UK who handle more than three million passengers annually.

Veezu chief executive Nathan Bowles said: “We’re delighted to relocate our head office to a vibrant, modern and sustainable space in the city centre as it reflects our values as a business.

“As we look to continue expanding through acquisitive and organic growth, we also look to provide more employment opportunities in our communities. Our job roles at Veezu may surprise candidates. They include legal professionals, performance marketing specialists, quality and training, business analysts, and data engineers.

“This trajectory means we must also invest in the business’s infrastructure. The move to Hodge House reaffirms our commitment to our Welsh roots yet allows us to create an open, inclusive, and diverse organisation, that is easily accessible and where all team members belong.”

Veezu has made sustainability part of its business plan, investing more than £3.25m in low-emission cars within the last three years.

Letting agents for Hodge House are Knight Frank and Fletcher Morgan. Cardiff-based Rowan Mill were design and managing consultants on Veezu’s new offices, with fellow Cardiff firm Paramount main build contractor.

It wouldn't be a Veezu press release without the good old partner's mention.

But for how long? :-k

Sussex, in fact I thought the reference was a bit different to the usual, and it simply seems to be saying that the drivers are self-employed.

The 'partners' seem to be part of the office staff, reading it literally.

Although that doesn't make sense either, becuase it says the partners are 'directly employed', as are the staff. But that doesn't make sense either - what's the difference between a 'directly employed' member of staff and a partner. The very essence of 'staff' is that they're directly employed.

Which suggests to me that the word 'partner' in the statement is simply a bit of PR flim flam to make it all sound more touchy-feely, thus a bit like 'diverse' and 'inclusive'.

So to that extent, maybe they're moving away from describing their self-employed drivers as 'driver partners'.
