Usual entitled and reckless cyclist stuff
Helped on by a new council scheme - no-doubt well intentioned, but utterly naive as well. Just like the free buses for under-21s across all of Scotland, they've just turned things into a playground, and a menace to wider society
Had a few run-ins with cyclists over the years (predictably enough), but it's never actually gotten to the stage of this kind of thing...
(Latest was a few weeks ago when this cyclist came barging up behind me in a downhill 20mph zone - he must have been doing 30mph, and I was doing bang on the 20
Anyway, he was dangerously close to my car's offside rear, so I pulled over slightly to let him pass, but made the mistake of peeping my horn at him
A few minutes later he came up to me back at the rank, and said I'd pulled out in front of him etc
I stood my ground and said he'd been a bit too reckless, and he soon seemed to change his mind, and said 'we'll call it quits'. I couldn't be bothered arguing...
And he wasn't a young hoon, as per the article below, and was actually maybe older than me

Keith Webster, who has been driving taxis in the city for 35 years, claims a cyclist damaged his Skoda Octavia just after 9pm on Thursday August 20.
He says the rider was using a Voi e-bike and cycling up Union Row the wrong way.
Keith, 56, told The Press and Journal: “While driving my taxi down Summer Street, I turned into Union Row and had to brake sharply to avoid a male riding a council-owned electric bike the wrong way up the one-way street.”
“After I rolled down my window to warn him how dangerous it was, he shouted back, ‘oh, is it? oh, is it?’, and then deliberately smashed the back window of my Skoda Octavia taxi as I drove off.”

The Aberdeenshire resident, who is self-employed through Rainbow City Taxis, said the cyclist had a “distinctive” bright yellow string JD Sports bag on his back.
He added: “This is the most damage that’s been caused to my car in the 35 years I’ve been working as a taxi driver.”
‘It’s just part of everyday life now’Mr Webster said incidents with bikes are becoming a “nuisance”.
He said: “This is becoming a regular thing every night of the week now.
“I have to go about trying to make a living dodging people on bikes coming up roads on the wrong side of the road or even coming up a one-way street the wrong way.
“It’s just part of everyday life now.”

He said that Union Street is becoming a “playground” for teenagers riding these bikes, saying: “Sometimes there’s three people on a bike and there’s no respect or regard for the Highway Code or how the other motorists feel when they’re cycling towards them.
“It happens every single weekend.”
Taxi driver says e-bikes being used for pub crawlsHowever, Mr Webster hopes the perpetrator will be easily caught as Voi riders need to set up and pay through an online account.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At around 9.30pm on Thursday August 20, officers received a report of damage to a vehicle on Union Row, Aberdeen.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
Aberdeen City Council refused to comment due to it being a “live police investigation”.
Voi has been approached for comment.
