Almost workaday stuff that wouldn't be reported elsewhere, but the Ipswich Star is now one of those that does
But I wonder what the procedure is for this - it reads like they were revoked under delegated powers, and then the chair was 'consulted'. Which presumably means 'told'
And a throwaway line at the bottom about the medical revocations...
Two Ipswich taxi drivers have licences revoked after crasheshttps://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/2665 ... d-crashes/Two taxi drivers have had their licences immediately revoked by the council after being involved in crashes with one incident injuring a person.Ipswich Borough Council have announced that they have stripped two individuals of their combined hackney carriage and private hire driver’s licence.
It was revealed that one driver had his licence revoked on August 27 after they were involved in a road traffic collision in which a person was injured.
In a separate incident, on August 29, the council took the decision to immediately revoke the licence of another taxi driver.
This came as they were involved in a road traffic collision due to the manner of driving.
Both incidents were investigated and led to the drivers’ licence being immediately revoked.
The chair of the Licensing and Regulatory Committee was consulted.
No alternative options were considered.
This comes as two other taxi drivers had their combined hackney carriage and private hire licences suspended after they failed to provide the council with a medical certificate when asked.
