Could they not try the Ombudsman? :?

I've thought about the ombudsman in the past but I'm sure the website says they will only deal with things that can't be dealt with by a court of law, so basically you can't use it as a free solicitor.

I could be wrong about the exact details though.

I think everything could be dealt with by the courts, hence no work for the Ombudsman.

But I think they want to deal with things like Mr Buddies' two-bob council, rather than the big issues.

I would defo give it a go, they can only tell him to bugger off. But I've got a feeling they wont.

Councils regularly break the law regards licensing

Renfrewshire Council does it every day

Comprehensive insurance minimum when the law states third party is sufficient

Having spoken to the local council I was informed the requirement for fully comprehensive insurance is a condition the council has set themselves. If anyone needs to challenge the condition they are going to have to have their license suspended and test the condition in the Sheriffs court. If they lose they are going to have to appeal to the higher court.

Hi JD

The only problem here is every court case involving licensing Renfrewshire Council has lost at Paisley Sheriff Court has been appealed by them to the Court of Session

In other words unless you have financial clout, forget it
