On reading the best practise this months taxi and pH monthly, regarding zones on page 110, what will the position be in Scotland ????
We have 4 zones here in the Scottish Borders, all under one council, and at the moment if we want to work in any of the other zones we have to have the cabs tested and plated for that zone, and it costs £170 plus £25.00 for the plates for each zone so if you want to work all 4 zones it will cost you £680 plus £100 for 4 plates but the draw back is if you had your cab tested for example in JAN in zone 1 and decided you wanted to work zone 2 as well you will have to pay to have it re tested in FEB and so on, and the only people making money in the council and all plates must be displayed front and back, and it looks totally stupid having 4 plates stuck to the cabs.
any sensible advice welcome, and I hope Sussex has got over his PMT as he has been like a bear with a sore head lately with some of his replies :D :D

I think zones down here will gradually cease to be, but up in your manor who know? :?

Maybe the Scottish office or whatever their called nowadays will do their own best practise guidance, but I suppose they have got to sort base licenses first.

And how long has that taken? [-(
