christmas eve in dundee must have been the worst in history, in the first two and a half hours i done two jobs eusasmiles.zip
dundee councils large christmas tarrif increase made things even worse, before i had my first job i was aproached by another cabbie who asked how i was getting on with the new tarrif, he explained he had done two jobs, the first threatened him,the second took his name and number to report him to the council for overcharging,by eleven pm many cars were parked up due to no work/ public anger at prices, i landed lucky if you could call it that, i paid dis electrics £26.00 to change the tarrif and dundee council£11.00 to test my meter, when i switched on my meter i found there was no change from the usual tarrif ,i put the £1.20 extras on manually but lost out on the meter going up at 20p when it should have been 30p, instead of an ear bashing i got quite a lot of good tips, especially from individuals who had already travelled in a cab with the right tarrif, i know im still out of pocket compared to the other cabbies but looking at how stressed out some of them were i still consider myself lucky, ill also be looking for a refund from both dis/ council, although i wont be holding my breath on the council

I think Xmas Eve evening was a shower in most areas, but for the life of me I can't ever remember having a blinding one. :?

So perhaps it was the norm and we all expect to earn when we can't. :?

Of course it doesnt help when I come into work on 27th December and have complaints such as one lady querying to a driver why the meter was on rate 3 on xmas eve as it wasnt a bank holiday (rate 3 begins at 6pm here).

With the repost of the driver being, thats the f***ing rate and if you dont pay the f***ing fare I'll take you to the f***ing police station.

I went back early.

yesterday started quiet (out by 9  ) but was busy throughout the day, I'm hoping today will be the same, then it's out to a party tonight.

See you all on the other side.

Happy New Year, even for the republicans! Image

our trade went downhill from about the 20th xmas day night was reasonably busy but it was still my lowest ever total for xmas day boxing day was dead apart from what was prebooked a few reasonable day times but nights have been dreadful and Saturday night this week was like a quiet wednesday night tonight is pretty poor everyone HAS to have 01.00 have turned down nearly 100 customers for that time slot over the last month nobody will compromise or understand they simply expect taxis to be available when and where they need them so my drivers are having a really cr*p new years eve you can earn far more on a normal Saturday night when it isn't the case of everyone going out in a 1 hour time slot and again a busy 1 hour time slot 00.30 to 01.30 then dead as a dodo I blame the hype around the Millenium

Whatever you see in your area is mirrored around the country, I work permanent nights - But! finished up Sunday 24th 5.00 a.m returning Thurs 28th, The other guys saying xmas eve was sh**e and boxing night not much better. Frid 29th & Sat 30th much quieter than the norm, it would seem that everyone has got one eye on New years eve. Anyway I am off that night, start back 2nd or 3rd Jan.

Happy New Year everyone - and a safe and prosperous one.

Hi sorry Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all its gone wobbly bits up here since we got freezing fog on the 21st and things went on a long distance spiral from there  :? I've seen Cardiff, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Southampton in the last 7 days and now I want my bed; I deserve my bed; and I wasn't joking when I said I was having January off!

Have a great New Year ... keep safe, be lucky and may you find that winning Lottery Ticket on your back seat after a nightmare fare
