The kangaroo court, sorry Station Taxi's disipline committee sat yesterday in York and metered out various punishments to cover cars, it was however no surprise to see that the two shareholders who were fighting with iron bars were not called to appear and are still blatently using the rank. it would seem that the Committee only have one statement and are still gathering evidence, what they really mean is that in time everyone will forget and they will get away with it once again.

so what happened to the cctv camera footage, has that not been thought of, the cameras point onto the rank and area, stn taxis run that camera system don't they.

All Rise, York Stn Taxi Court in Session.

I found out tonight that one driver was up in front of the stn taxi's committee for refusing a fare on the rank, the driver an independant taxi, nothing to do with stn taxis

the punter [of foreign origin] concerned could not speak English, she had no paperwork, no written instructions of where she was going or wanted to go, the driver turned her down because he could not understand her and had no clear instruction of her destination or if indeed she wanted a taxi. As far as I am concerned it was a contract between the driver and customer, nothing to do with anyone else, in this case the customer could not make a proper contract

the driver drove off with another fare, the foreign lady went to the taxi office on the rank, she complained to the office girl, somehow or other through the language barrier, that she had been a victim of racial abuse by the driver

I do not know what punishment taxi plate 27 was given by the stn taxi court

Do you know when the next taxi court sessions are held, led to believe its every 3 months, this must be a new thing, maybe it saves the Council alot of work, the council and gner said a few years ago that eventually the York taxi trade would become self policing

the trouble is in York we have to many taxi driver policemen [and women], taxi drivers who think they are better than others, all trying to win one over other drivers, it cat and dog out here, one wrong move and someone will report you, to many doo gooders or think they are

press ain't interested, its taxi politics, its greed

The only way it will be beaten especially in the station taxi ranks is more to join the union, the monopoly in the gner stn rank can be broken only by internal drivers who work the railway rank who can start stirring up the sh*t and clean out some of these taxi barons and monsters in the trade

The situation is the same everywhere, and that is you will not get everyone to stick together, there is a local taxi association has anyone approached them? maybe they can help, but there are always two sides to a story and most of the multi seaters here use tarriff 3 when they have six passengers in,the driven you mention does this, which is clearly wrong but all the men drivers seem to think this is ok, so it would seem that in the world of station taxis violence and cheating is ok as long as hit someone, overcharge them, and you are accepted but if you are verbal it is not liked, and if you are a shareholder you can do whatever you like.

[quote="miss take"],there is a local taxi association has anyone approached them? maybe they can help, but there are always two sides to a story and most of the multi seaters here use tarriff 3quote]

most running out the stn [not all tho] do run during the day on tarrif 2, thats to get their permit money back

Taxi association, your making me laugh now, you pay them subs, for what ?? they are also the taxi policemen of the taxi trade, who gave them the authority to become taxi police, is it not right to say that some of stn taxi shareholders are also involved in this taxi association and have a lot of say.

only the other day I saw a news letter from them, the taxi association, re rank etiquette has slipped,
that the first on the rank pick up, and not load second taxi till 1st taxi got a job, who are they to say this, its up to the customer, all cabs on rank are avail for hire, some won't go in black cabs or WA vehicles

another, to many cabs picking up flaggers too near taxi ranks, whilst cabs sit on rank, rollocks, it was me they flagged

Do you have the outcome of the punishments Stn taxis gave their drivers, see a lot more stn rank cabs coming on to councils ranks this week, yours,
disgrunted taxi driver
