Can any taxi go through the congestion zones in London for free, and use the bus lanes. and what are the rules for the red routes.
By taxi I mean any licenced cab from the whole country????????

LOndon taxi's and private hire only are exempt form CC(I think).
Hackney carraiges from other areas can use bus lanes, but be prepeard for a ticket and then fighting it.

Everyone outside of London has to pay the CC charge, unless you drive an eight-seater cos with the driver it's classed as an nine-seater bus.

Any taxi licensed under the 1847 act, which is them all, is allowed in any bus lane in London that allows London taxis.

If they wrote on the signs 'London taxis only' then it wouldn't, but all they put on the signs is just 'taxis'. :D

Where is GBC when you need him, I don't think we should pay the congestion charge, we are only doing our job, and the same one as our comrades there (ell tell will like that one) I would just send any fine back to RED KEN and tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine, mind you he thinks it does

Saving the good people of London a long walk after they closed all the main line rail terminals as it was windy.

Damn. :D

As Sussex says, the signs say TAXI (well most do) so if you were visiting (thats one hell of a fare from Gala) and got a PCN, you would have good grounds for appeal.

Luckily the signs don't say 'Taxee' yet.

Your right GBC is 1 hell of a fare but I have done it 16 times in the last 18 years and 1 to Plymouth.
So that means we can just drive through the congestion zone for free
