So there's only one show a year now - nothing at all in the south?

I am sure lots of folks on here think Coventry is in the south.

It would probably have been quicker by train ! Seriously though it is a long way from Scotland and I am surprised no one has organised a scottish version especially as some of the major players in the vehicle and insurance market are north of the Border

They need one in the south (London or lower).

That's where all the money is. :D

There was one about five years ago but I think it only ran two years or so.

I suppose that if England can't support two taxi shows with 50m population then it's not surprising that we can't support one with only 5m people.

A valid point Mr Fae, but you would have thought with the likes of Cab Direct, Taxi Centre and Patons being based up there, it wouldn't cost them that much to organize one.

But I doubt they really like one another.

Yes, and that's the point - it really has to be a third party that does it, like the PH association that does the English shows?

The Scottish shows were done by a Glasgow-based trade mag - On Rank - but presumbaly it wasn't worth doing it on a regular basis.

Some of the main suppliers may be up here, but they'll want to have a show where the market is, and the biggest market is down there.

Funny that three of the big vehicle suppliers are up here though.

It's Mr Fife to you, by the way

"Fae" is Scots for "from", so basically my name means "From Fife".

Twenty odd years ago I liked a punk band called the Rezillos, and they had a female vocalist called "Fay Fife". Fay is proper name for a female, but it was only a couple of years ago that I realised that this might have been a pun for Fae Fife - hence my Rezillos avatar

Don't know if it was a pun though, and I doubt if many girls are christened Fay these days

The problem with the show is not the location but when they hold it.
Why does it have to be held midweek during term time? If it was held during the school holidays more people would make the trip.
