The problem here is whose truth you believe.

If you're really a driver and can't take on board the argument about running your own taxi, in a quality controlled market, then what hope is there for you?

You need to do your homework.

The real truth is that changes are happening while you're either not up to speed with the argument or deliberately ignoring it.

Anyway, I'm happy to run my own taxi for £190 per week, 24/7 while you pay your £250 or more rental being a part timer for a lucky owner.

[edited by admin] Kinte or what?

It's you that can't take on board the argument that I don't want the hassle of my own taxi. I'm happy to rent, do a shift , lock up the cab and walk away, it's somebody else that worries about keeping it on the road.
£190 a week and the rest. Come back to earth and stop living with the fairies. You have also said you won't be giving up your rental if you get a plate, so you want to pay your £250 or more rental being a part timer for a lucky owner instead of your dream £190.

Oh so only you can dictate to all? Why should you force your ideas on everybody else? I make a living and the public get a good service so what are you going to improve?
The past proved that derestriction didn't work in Edinburgh but you don't care. You're one queer cookie.

Who said it didn't work?

The public?

Or the vested interests who have hiked plate values to £50,000.

Curious thing is that de-restriction works OK in over 70% of other local authorities. Including London.

So, tell me again it didn't work.

The only difficulty with the last occasion was that the council was persuaded by the vested interests to put the cap back on.

Anyway, what part of free market economics don't you understand?

Who said it didn't work? Those who lost everything - the public who faced higher fares and a poorer service because of the cut-throat antics of some desperate drivers, oh, and the Cab Inspector.
So, again it didn't work. Were you there? NO, you just make it up as you go along.
what part of free market economics don't I understand? The bit about price controls - how can you call it a free market. Joe public doesn't hail a cab on the basis of choice but of necessity. He takes the first one that comes along.
Is it true that you are up on disciplinary at the council as well as being refused your plate?

He seems to have some kinda perverted fix on me. He likes to tell me he is watching me. Sad or what?

He winds up his manic, desperate, posts with the ominous ( ) "Big Brother is watching you"

I simply told him "So is the police"

Got to go. The amphitheatre awaits.

Where are those Christians      ?
