Thanks for the info JD and TDO, About 19 years ago, just as finished my shift, I went into a fire and pulled a guy out of his house, even though he was badly burnt he survived, I also single handed, evacuated 32 others from my block of flats at 4am in the morning, and if it was not for my army first aid training some of them could have died.
Would I do it again, yes I would as its a natural instinct
No answer to that buddy =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Do we legally have to carry a first aid kit, I was under the impression that the first aid kit was for your own use, and that you could be prosecuted if you administered first aid to a punter, if something went wrong during treatment

Isnt it something to do with the health and safety at work act? In connection with yourself as opposed to the customer.

I've only ever used two things out of the first aid kit in my car -

1. Gloves - "in sickness and in health; or drunken stupour that still gonna cost you a hundred quid mate"
2. The slings - good for moping up!

Don't actually have to have one here as LO have realised that we can't use them!

Personally I think anyone in a WAV or holding and Education Badge should have to be First Aid Trained and carry a kit!

I had to use my first aid kit on Thursday. One of the ladies in the limo had broken the strap on her dress so I gave her a safety pin. :D

Our LA doesn't require it although i do carry one

I think the reason why it is required in some LA's is that in the unlikely event of an accident it guarantees there are the basic supplies available for anyone attending the scene who is a trained first aider

If the LA insist on first aid kits and fire extingishers then the drivers should be trained how to use them.
