Some guy named Jim Kelly has welcomed the new smoking laws but are they too draconian for cab drivers? Jim Kelly thinks not but has he thought about the wider repercussions for Taxi drivers?

Indeed.

But to a degree, for the first time in my life, the T&G appear to be near my view on an issue.

what a load of tosh i, and am sure plenty of other taxi and PH drivers will carry on lighting up after 1st of july, what is this country coming to.
what do you think the chances are of gettin caught? about the the same as not wearing a seat belt in the dark i guess and with a paltry "fine" of £50 reduced to £30 if paid within 14 days or what ever the time line is.
fair enough if your carrying passengers, thats a different story.
this law is so stupid a truck driver who spends all week away in there truck on there own cant even smoke. not even on a night out when his truck ceases to be a work place and becomes his home for the night.
SO MUCH FOR A FREE COUNTRY
