It has been put to me that you can use non - crb checked people as escorts if the driver is crb checked. Similarly you can use non - crb checked drivers if the escort is crb checked.

I would be very surprsied if the licensing of B&H council allowed that, but I can't speak for Lewes.

You might be surprised, but like myself you haven't checked whether the statements allude to anything in fact or legal standing, or even just be operational guidelines.
And remember I did not refer to Lewis but to the trade as a whole and I also pointed out that I didn't like this, if true, or not really, because of several possible scenarios.

However, the logic is valid despite the real possibilities being unwelcome.

I've noticed the friction, and, to be blunt, I could, at this point in time because of the Generically Myopic Bunch's failure to admit to their lies and just try to instill some truth or reality into their rhetoric, readily put full blame on this Generically Myopic Bunch.

But given my newbie status and for all the other new members perhaps you could let us know what you mean and, if possible, just why you hold these views. Facts wouldn't go amiss either!
One can't help wondering what Ernesto (Che) Guevara would have to say about your views. But I digress, For myself and all the other newbies perhaps you could just, fill us all in.

There comes a day when you have to stop folowing and learn to live your own life, join it, join life and leave the Generically Myopic Bunch.

You never know, you might find out why you have a conscience!

I always try to avoid violence.

Anyway your board skills make me question your newbie status.

Oh no not another conspiracy theory? [-(

Methinks the GMB should concentrate on the issues, not on trying to avoid them. :?

You don't just try to avoid violence. You try to avoid answers as well.
What's the history that generated this paranoia with the running of this site, pray tell GA, pray tell?

Newbie: Well, yes I am.
You, being from the North East may very well not believe this because your life expectancy is shorter than ours in the South East (See Gov't Stats) and you seem to have a need to affix blame on others for your own shortcomings, as in life participation, but, I can only state this for you in order that you may do what you will with it........
My age is 87, the board is read to me by a screen reader provided by the government. My great grandson "posts" my replies when I have had time to consider them and he is available, as I can't tell from your phrase what board game you refer to in regard to skills (drafts and/or chess I like) I have to accept that you mean what my great grandson does for me.
If this is so please do not abuse him because he is crucial to my current existence.

What you and your colleagues of the Generically Myopic Bunch fail to see, despite my declaration in an earlier post, is my commitment to Unions and profound acceptance of their need.
Unions need to self perpetuate or just fade away!
The rhetoric and, just plain lies, from your colleagues and other alleged trade unionists within the Generically Myopic Bunch is just so anti - recruitment. And, in your attempt to justify this outrageous publication which creates an atmosphere so anti - trade unionist, you go on to the extreme degree that potential members are not just driven away from your union but all other unions too.
Trust, when there is an awareness of such blatant lies, can not be achieved.
Trust is crucial to every aspect of the trade union movement. Crucial. Ask good 'ole hideaway (Ernesto (Che) Guevara )!
Can you really not perceive the resentments caused by this nonesense? At all?

People need to be able to trust, lies and subsequent support for lies, do not create the right dynamics for this to be achieved.

I bid you change, join life, leave the GMB.

Now if I was one of those GMB folks who thinks Mr Saint isn't a real person I would simple give the Lewes LO a phone call and ask him.

Or for that matter anyone else that was on his letter's mailing list http://www.taxi-driver.co.uk/GMBResponse.doc

FFS there are enough of them to choose from. One is even the top man at the GMB, so you would have thought that would have been the first port of call.

Unless of course someone is ashamed to ask the boss. :-$

You don't just try to avoid violence. You try to avoid answers as well.
What's the history that generated this paranoia with the running of this site, pray tell GA, pray tell?

Just remember you asked.

The history of my paranoia goes before THIS site was here, when THE BIGGEST and BEST, when the real ORIGINAL taxi forum based website was THE place to discuss taxi issues.

There were 2 people who seemed to argue every issue raised ............. even more about the running of the site .................... these 2 people were known as Sussex Man and Dusty Bin.

These 2 were absolutely against members having to register details ............... indeed they claimed that we were trying to gather information improperly, amongst other stuff. There was another site (who's name escapes me) that was an open board (no registration) and both Sussex Man and Dusty Bin started this website and were adamant that NO REGISTRATION would ever be required to join here.

I can tell you that Sussex Man is now simply Sussex and Dusty Bin is TDO .................. conspiracy theorists would suggest that these two also write under at least another 4 or 5 aliases (it has been claimed that this has been admitted in order to improve stats from one of the aforementioned)

I was banned from this site for some time ................... for asking questions or providing evidence to some allegations that I made ............. I must point out that these allegations were proved right when other people across the country reported that the admin of this site were contacting local councils, something that they had denied until I was banned. One of the pieces of material that this site circulated (in the name of the membership) was entitled Myth and Reality ..................... this was an excellently written and well researched piece HOWEVER it was, and still is, a piece which strongly advocates deregulation of the HC trade .............. and as a HC driver and proprietor as well as chair of the local HC association, I felt compelled to show it as a bias report, something I believe it still is.

Myth and Reality was distributed around every council.

We also had this bloke calling himself JD making lists on plate values and restricted councils pointing out how much the plates in each area were worth ........................ most of not all the figures were inaccurate, something which again was reported my members in each area but denied by the secret society which is the administration of this site.

The bottom line is that TDO is a site which promotes deregulation of the HC trade ................. and the administration will misquote posts or pick on one line within a post to attack a poster who objects to their quest to destroy the HC industry.

And that is why my avatar is was it is.

The administration of this site are unknown to its members, now I would accept that it is not important to know exactly who the author of any post actually is providing the post is informative and properly reflects a persons opinion ..................... however when that information is used outside of this site to promote a specific cause and promoted as being the opinion of the membership I believe we should all know who we are giving the information to.

As you are a newbie, and as you are the person who is so aggrieved by the actions of the GMB in the South East I feel as though I should ask you to go a little further back in the thread where you will discover that Sussex made the original allegations about vehicle standards and how they differed around the South East and how that effected the "competition" encountered by drivers of Brighton and Hove when tendering for Contracts within their own Council area.

I must also point out that it was indeed Sussex who invited the GMB down to Brighton ................... and got them involved in this whole issue.

B. Lucky :D

BTW if you didn't know, my name is Mick Pollard and I'm a licensed HC owner driver in Gateshead.
