You don't just try to avoid violence. You try to avoid answers as well.
What's the history that generated this paranoia with the running of this site, pray tell GA, pray tell?

Just remember you asked.

The history of my paranoia goes before THIS site was here, when THE BIGGEST and BEST, when the real ORIGINAL taxi forum based website was THE place to discuss taxi issues.

There were 2 people who seemed to argue every issue raised ............. even more about the running of the site .................... these 2 people were known as Sussex Man and Dusty Bin.

These 2 were absolutely against members having to register details ............... indeed they claimed that we were trying to gather information improperly, amongst other stuff. There was another site (who's name escapes me) that was an open board (no registration) and both Sussex Man and Dusty Bin started this website and were adamant that NO REGISTRATION would ever be required to join here.

I can tell you that Sussex Man is now simply Sussex and Dusty Bin is TDO .................. conspiracy theorists would suggest that these two also write under at least another 4 or 5 aliases (it has been claimed that this has been admitted in order to improve stats from one of the aforementioned)

I was banned from this site for some time ................... for asking questions or providing evidence to some allegations that I made ............. I must point out that these allegations were proved right when other people across the country reported that the admin of this site were contacting local councils, something that they had denied until I was banned. One of the pieces of material that this site circulated (in the name of the membership) was entitled Myth and Reality ..................... this was an excellently written and well researched piece HOWEVER it was, and still is, a piece which strongly advocates deregulation of the HC trade .............. and as a HC driver and proprietor as well as chair of the local HC association, I felt compelled to show it as a bias report, something I believe it still is.

Myth and Reality was distributed around every council.

We also had this bloke calling himself JD making lists on plate values and restricted councils pointing out how much the plates in each area were worth ........................ most of not all the figures were inaccurate, something which again was reported my members in each area but denied by the secret society which is the administration of this site.

The bottom line is that TDO is a site which promotes deregulation of the HC trade ................. and the administration will misquote posts or pick on one line within a post to attack a poster who objects to their quest to destroy the HC industry.

And that is why my avatar is was it is.

The administration of this site are unknown to its members, now I would accept that it is not important to know exactly who the author of any post actually is providing the post is informative and properly reflects a persons opinion ..................... however when that information is used outside of this site to promote a specific cause and promoted as being the opinion of the membership I believe we should all know who we are giving the information to.

As you are a newbie, and as you are the person who is so aggrieved by the actions of the GMB in the South East I feel as though I should ask you to go a little further back in the thread where you will discover that Sussex made the original allegations about vehicle standards and how they differed around the South East and how that effected the "competition" encountered by drivers of Brighton and Hove when tendering for Contracts within their own Council area.

I must also point out that it was indeed Sussex who invited the GMB down to Brighton ................... and got them involved in this whole issue.

B. Lucky :D

BTW if you didn't know, my name is Mick Pollard and I'm a licensed HC owner driver in Gateshead.

But.....................

On the other hand what's the point, you've regurgitated this garbage so many times that it's a waste of time even reading it.

How many times do you need to be told that you were banned for claiming that the site trying to sell services. ](*,)

And the site was contacting councils? Wow? ](*,)

Any taxi forum or website worth it's salt would be failing in its duty if it wasn't contacting councils. At least we've never attempted to charge councils to use the site, unlike yourself.

I would stick with the GMB Mick - clueless and good at misrepresenting things

Seventh Saint had the measure of the GMB from the kick off, and cottoned on to you soon after :D

If the site is so bad Mick then I don't know how you can keep posting on it.

Why not stay on the GMB site - now that's where you'll see the real multiple IDs

There's about a dozen members, but only about three people among them

I don't think that is true at all Dusty ................... I never claimed that you were trying to sell anything.

My recolection of the allegations I made have been proven ............... but I won't harp on about being right ............ even though you proved your guilt now by making claims about allegations that were never made.

The duty .............. you on drugs Dusty ................. you set this site up to allow free debate without restriction through registration ................... what happened to your original ethic ............ and you say that I'm inconsistant.

Also please tell everyone how where and when I tried to SELL anything to ANY council or CHARGE councils to use a site that I didn't own.

Here's what you alleged:

This site is in place to front an attempt by a "specialist" taxi solicitor to convince every council that he can give them advice, at a cost, that will increase their revenue and get them out of trouble with the DfT, even though they aren't in any trouble in the first place.

I'll tell you what this person has done Sussex, he has seen how much consultancy work is undertaken by a person with more trade knowledge but less qualifications and guessed how much he could make from that. Then you add into the equation the "forming a policy which will withstand legal challenge" argument.

You see Sussex this bloke is telling councils that he will assist them in forming policies which will stop the need for court cases, claiming that his costs are lower than if the council had to defend either policy in court
.

And here's the whole sorry tale:

http://www.taxi-driver.co.uk/witchhunt.htm

The hours we spent on this garbage, and the chances over weeks to give you the chance to prove your ridiculous allegations.

And your sidekick even threatened to go round and see a totally innocent person who you were deluded into thinking ran this site, and your only basis for thinking this was...well, I never could work that out.

And another sidekick put this person's name and address on the internet, when he was in hospital having major surgery.

And yet you're shameless enough to bring this garbage up again.

A few dozen, clearly not as many as we'd like, but a lot more than any other forum. :)

Thank you for quoting the truth.

At no point in that quote did I claim that TDO was attempting to make charges.

I was however claiming that a member was using the forum for his own ends ..................... and I still suggest that is the case.

OK then,

This site has been going for nearly 4 years. (3rd September 2003)

It has 1071 members.

67 members have posted more than 100 times.

I would suggest that not many have an average posts per day over 1 ................... but that facility has been removed from the membership sorting criteria in the software.

Never mind though, this is a good site ....................... and I think we should have a birthday party on September the third.

I refer you to the first few words quoted above, which implicate the site.

And as regards JD, several years later and not one scintilla of evidence.

You'll recall we asked you to name councils, but still none.

Dream on.
