Yes Sussex, but in any other profession you are free to leave, or if you have any disputes you can get them sorted, BUT they are held over a barrel and don't have the same freedom its pay when I tell you and how much or its find your way home

I suppose if the driver's really had the hump, then they could take their PH vehicles back to their homeland.

They may be contractually obliged to pay back the costs, but I doubt if legally they could be obliged to stay with the firm.

Has anyone told them?

I'm not an expert on the immigration rules, but I suspect that if John Preece is acting as stated then he's breaking them, but again I suspect that the facts have been exaggerated a bit by Skippy's sources.

TDO the source, is my dads nephew, he need something to do so he took up PH

Presumably not, but perhaps Skippy's dad's uncle's nephew's half-cousin could have a word with them

That's the drift of it TDO, but now he gets them to sign an agreement, that they cannot leave until he is payed in full, and that could take up to 2 years

Is that any different to what applies in many other professions? :?

I suppose if it wasn't for John Preece the immigrants wouldn't be able to get a Plymouth badge, unless of course they came to England on their own back and went through all the hoops Plymouth licensing department puts them through before being granted a license?

Perhaps there is a mutual benefit to be had but I would have thought John Preece might be able to save himself a substantial amount of money if he just employed established local P/H drivers.

For this activity to be going on I can only assume there is a lack of local private drivers in Plymouth, or for one reason or another they don't wish to work for Taxifast or perhaps they are prevented from working for Taxifast??

Regards

JD

However to charge what he charges of the poles chez's and whoever else is quite simply astonishing, its basicly daylight robbery,

Does that mean there's a chance they'll go back to Eastern Europe?

Well done Mr Preece, whoever you are. =D>
