I'd sooner own a triple T than a Ford engined TX2.

There are about a dozen 55 plated Metro's running about in London, these were a result of Metrocabs brief resurection the other year.

Do you know any of the drivers /owners GBC and what problems if any do they have

I don't, but those drivers of the Toyota engined version seem quite happy with their lot.

Metrocab acheived Euro 3 emission compliance long before LTI woke up to it.

I'd give some serious thought to buying one of they ever re-appear.

The one i used to drive was a 94 model which i am not sure if it was a series 1 or 11,but i must admit that the last version with the toyota engine was a lot smoother and quieter.
Also, if i was forced into the situation of having to drive a Tx or a late version Metrocab, the Plastic Pig would win hands down.

WHAT WAS THAT
I would have thought that the ttt would have been ok as you can get parts from any Toyota parts bin and being Toyota derived it should be more reliable :?
Series III was transit based. These bits were easy to come by. Problem was the bodyparts, suspension, steering,...........

Bodyparts? Do Metrocabs rot in the salty air up there?

No, but accidents do happen. 8)

For information, the headlights and front indicators are off a leyland-daf 95 truck. Rear lights are escort estate (mark 3, if I remember right)

There are a couple of 55 plates running in Edinburgh. These, I think, are from John Cowe's London Taxis Direct in Glasgow.

This firm have supplied a lot of newer Metrocabs and TXs into Edinburgh in recent years.
