Yeah ........... that's a really good idea.

I mean ..................lets get rid of a group of partially educated bureaucrats and replace then with a group of totally uneducated bureaucrats.

Lets face it starting all over again will take significantly longer than properly educating existing bureaucrats through their own "association" NATLEO.

And the process of local government will then be more effective as they will be being advised by a group that through its knowledge and experience could soon formulate a workable plan for the future.

Its time for education ..................... its time to put the needs of our customers first ....................... its time to assure our safety ................. its time to learn .......................... its time for professionalism .................... and that professionalism should be from the councils licensing department as well as ourselves.

i am sure there are some councils out there with some idea what they are to do but i know of very few !

i have been to HIGH courts twice now with councils because of their lack of understanding of the trade and its needs

all they ever want to do in enforce out dated laws as and when its suits them not us !! they dont provide a service they simply enjoy telling sorry bulling our trade into doing what they "THINK" they want ! until the next reshuffle of council staff then it all starts again

and this must be true by the simply fact the counciils have so many different standards, not one copys the other they just try to put their own stamp on it !!

anyway you must be lucky where you are if your council is looks after you well !!! congratulations

EDUCATION ..................... EDUCATION .................... EDUCATION.

The trade has, open to them, the opportunity to properly educate all drivers into every aspect of the trade.

The customers should expect certain standards ............. and the only way those standards can be relied upon is if drivers are properly and fully aware of their responsibilities and how to fulfil them.

The customers should also expect that those same standards should be properly enforced buy the local authority.

The bottom line here is that nothing about this trade is PROFESSIONAL .............. most owners consider the drivers to be easily expendable ................... most drivers consider driving to be stop gap employment ................... most enforcement or licensing officers are there because that was the only position that offered the promotion to their next grade up or they retired from the Police force.

PH operators are businessmen ................ and rightly so ............... they should be greedy, they should be ruthless, if they are not the drivers will make no money.

Drivers should be properly educated and professional qualifications should be attained. This primarily gives some re-assurance to the customers but it also makes the whole business more reliable and so contracts are easier to obtain and retain.

Licensing and Enforcement Officers should be properly educated and professional qualifications should be attained. My council is no different than yours, they believe they have the best possible people running and working in their departments ..................... but they do not have either the knowledge or the experience to advise the council on the correct implementation of the law through their policies.

As a businessman, you will have the resource to seek solutions to your problems ..................... the councils rely on the advice which is based upon the interpretation of people who know little of the legislation which governs us all.

Its time to train the people already there .................. its time to raise the standards ...................... its time for us all to consider driving for hire and reward a profession ........................ and then we may all be better off financially.

Oh and how much would the public benefit ........................ how many complaints do you get from disgruntled customers or how often do you have to advertise in order to get new customers?

GA you are a complete f*ckwitt.

The whole purpose of the system is to marginalise and isolate the people within it. This is the system the council operates. This is your State Capitalist Democratic System. You don’t have to tell them this they already know. They don’t want solidarity of the work force they want division. Any you want to give them greater control? They all ready have control you dickhead. The council holds all the keys to all the doors and you think you are offering them a solution. You are barking son.

The first thing you need is a united trade with proper legal representation. It’s about taken control back not giving it away you brown nosing little worm. Its guys like you who’ve fecked this trade. Without power through the media, popular opinion or the legal system you are stuffed.

Please, please, please, Councillor, can GA come up and suck your d*ck and then can we have some proper standards and quality controls?

Skull ................ can I use you for a referance if I need to apply for a job?

THE TRADE WILL NEVER .................... AND I MEAN NEVER BE UNIFIED.

What we need to do is stop fighting with the people who form the legislation that governs us.

Obviously your approach works well .................. and thats why you get what you want.

Its more obvious than ever before that you are incapable of operating to the professional standards we should be delivering TO THE PUBLIC THAT PAYS OUR WAGES.
