I for one drive in city cabs and am now faced with the threat that if i excercise my right to apply for a plate i will probably be thrown out of the company.F**k that! they,ll never get the chance!I,ll f****ng leave in a blaze of glory before that happens!All these draconian,victorian F**kwits have done is make the current drivers re-examing their positions as cheap labour who basically pay for their owners outgoings on the taxi,etc
As you can guess this has seriously f***ing [edited by admin] me off and im not the only one.If this suspension is an attempt to deter drivers from applying i hope it backfires F*****G BIG TIME!!!!

Another "plant" who quite obviously does not know the facts.

City Cabs operate a website and issue a newsletter, as do many other taxi companies. Information is given out to members and drivers on these media. Using a bit of common sense and logic (traits sadly lacking in some quarters) one can see that giving some of that company information to third parties amounts to a betrayal of trust that could result in loss of customer confidence in the company.
Perhaps MacDonald was a "Judas." Taylor has had several "Damascus" moments so they may like biblical themes?
Applying for a plate is not a reason for suspension, but informing third parties of internal company matters is. As has been said before, Taylor and Skull do not know the full facts, so are merely speculating as usual and, as usual, are wrong.

Three weeks ago, cab driver Steve Anemi stood up in Metro Hall and spoke out against taxi-plate leasing, describing it as a “feudal system” that forced him to work 16 hours a day, yet never let him get ahead. Now, Anemi says, he’s paying the price: his taxi-plate has been taken away. Without the plate, Anemi can’t work.

G Mac was told that City Cab owners had made complaints. There was no mention of the nature of the complaint or the grounds on which they suspended him. They never even told the owner. The first he knew about it was when he switched on the data unit. A coincidence - I think not.

His stats have nothing to do with it. This is a guy who played the system according to City Cabs rules. I think you would be hard pushed to find a more conscientious driver.

No, it’s a ram job alright.

Btw, when he phoned to get answers they would not tell him why the summary suspension was implemented without informing him first.

Ive no doubt whatsoever its a ram job !!!I know who G.Mac is and he,s a good guy and driver. I didn,t know members had made complaints! doesn,t surprise me at all and without giving him a reason makes it ten times worse,although we all know what they are
Re: the stats thats the kinda [edited by admin] they try and pull when they,ve got nowt on ye they just try and find something no doubt they,ve already looked at his stats and seen they are fine.City over the last year have put members and drivers out the company after doing alleged RANDOM STAT SEARCHES!!!! random my arse!!!!

That assumes every taxi is in competition with every other taxi. Would create a mess at the ranks.

Also any work this lad could take from that firm, he can as it is.

Whilst not condoning the alleged actions of the City Cabs committee, even if they are true, I'm sure Taylor would just classify Mr McDonald as "collateral damage". After all it was he and his criminal thug boyfriend who incited and encouraged Mr McDonald to apply
