I probably should have written a bit more in that last post. It sounds irrelevant. It is my first WAV, and BTW I plated it for Glenrothes, Fife.

It's the first one in the area. Very happy with it.

fae Fife, as he is closer to you would you ensure he takes his tablets, and has an electric shock on a daily basis until he come to his sences     :D

I take it you have not read the posts on here regarding the TX range,
and all the problems with them.
You could have saved yourself £14,000 by buying an E7 that has better access and cheaper to insure and run especially on fuel

That is a really good question Scousemouse.

So how many LTI vehicles have you had the pleasure of owning Skip?

I have driven an old fx4 for 4 months and that was sheit as the excelerator cable kept on snapping even the center bulk head collapsed when someone sat on the pull down, even had to bump start it every morning as it would not start with a jump
I have even owned a metro MK1 needed ear muffs with that.

And neither of them could of cost you more than a tenner, so what did you expect

This is a classic situation of people jumping on the bandwagon to bring down a vehicle that they know little or nothing about.

Unless you have owned or driven a TX4, then you are not in any place to criticise the vehicle. Whether or not you want to believe it, things have advanced over the years and the TX4 is a far cry from a Metrocab Mk1. or an Austin FX4.

Maybe you WANT the TX4 to fail, maybe you own a different vehicle that you are happy with, but there is no need to scaremonger and invent negative stories about the cab.

I've not heard one negative report about the TX4, I've also not heard any negative reports about the new E7 or the Jubilee VW conversions.

Perhaps it's time to wake up and realise that they're are, and will continue to be, new cabs coming into the trade. Whether you like it or not, this is the way things are.

I stand by what I've always said, that the LTI vehicle is my personal favourite. In my opinion, the best tool for the job. I've not had much experience of the other cabs myself, so it's impossible to comment on them. I would certainly not openly criticise any of them, as each no doubt has its benefits.

This forum, and indeed the taxi trade, ould benefit from constructive discussion about different vehicles rather than people coming on and at the first given chance criticising a certain vehicl just because it's not their personal choice.

For example, don't come on and say that the 'XXX' taxi is a load of rubbish, why not just come on and point out what it is you don't like about it and give others the chance to make a constructive reply,

That little 3-letter word being the key word in your posting. OLD taxis - you say you've driven an OLD FX4 and a Mk1 metrocab (by which I assume you mean a cab that's perhaps 20 years old).

- How can you expect them to perform like new?

- How the hell can you compare an OLD cab to a brand new TX4?

- Take a look at LTI's TX4 sales figures. I'm not sure how many TX4s have sold up to now, but I know Mann & Overton London alone have sold well over a thousand. And you still think they're no good???

Some of my TX1s have done over 500,000 miles and still drive great, plus the fact the drivers are always safe.

fairwaydriver, I know what your saying, but are you restricted as to what vehicle you drive, or do you have the choice that about 70% of the UK has.
If your restricted to LTI only you are being asked to pay up to a third more for your cab and running costs, than say an E7 owner and they can both do the same job, even the VW transporter taxi is cheap to run.
If Skoda would get there act together and bring out a cab there would probably be a stampede for them.

When I drove the FX4 it was 1987 and the metro in 1995 both where only 5 years old.
there is a post on here some where that states LTIs sales figures are down

If the TX4 is that good a vehicle, it should have no problem selling on the open market.

So why do LTI have to rely on the PCO and certain councils' rules to make their money?

Why do LTI go to so much trouble to preserve their monopoly?
