Right guy's and ladies, there seems to be a massive void between all the associations, and one or the other cannot agree with anything said or written, and they continue to throw there toys out of the pram, so could I suggest that a new association if formed and scrap the others, this association will be called the TAXI DRIVER ON LINE ASSOCIATION, this is for the simple fact that nearly every taxi owner or PH owner has access to the web, then we can all sing from the same hymn book, and probably get more done and have more clout than many individual body's

OR AM I ASKING FOR A MIRICAL, WE ARE SUPOSED TO BE FIGHTING THE POWERS THAT BE NOT EACH OTHER

Your not asking for a miracle, but the AGM should be quite entertaining with an appearance from a ghost

Openness and honesty I am afraid are not one of JD"s qualities, your idea would mean that you would agree to be dominated by the Fuhrer.... not for me mate....
many people through their associations have access to this discussion document... I thought is only fair that it appears on here... for Debate... nobody is saying it is perfect or it will ever see the light of day.. nobody is saying that it cannot be changed... that exemptions can be placed within it.... it is a discussion document at this time no more than that ... I am sending a full copy to Sussex and I'll ask him to place it on here....

I was going to suggest Dusty for chair, as its his site, JD for secretary as he does not mince his words and already has the addresses of the powers that be, now who wants vice chair

JD....and you are?

I guess I am the guy who recently burst your little monopoly of the busiest taxi rank in Carlisle at the exclusion of the majority of hackney carriage drivers. Does that ring a bell?

and you represent?

I represent no one but my myself, who do you represent?

and you have the b@lls to come out of the shadows?

I have a feeling if I came out of the shadows you wouldn't like it one little bit.

put up or shut up you sad little man.

I'm glad you under estimate what little talent I have. lol

Are you now going to tell all these hackney carriage drivers reading TDO why you Mr Wayne Casey, private hire and Taxi mogul of the North East, why you require them to come under private hire legislation?

I doubt it.

I'm just wondering what your organisation has achieved in the last decade and since its inception, to enhance the rights and conditions of Taxi drivers? Not a great deal from where I'm sitting? Although you did have a nice little earner going in your own backyard for you and your buddies at the expense of the majority of the taxi trade. Until I exposed the illegal practice that is. lol

There is no-one who likes a ruck more than I, but I'm really interested in this issue. And I expect I'm not alone.

When the existing sections 46 and 80 are put up on here soon, and the proposed changes, I for one would really like to find a way forward.

If, and only if ( :D ), it's possible.

Who made you aware and when?

Surely putting out such "proposals" for discussion,

So you are suggesting these proposals came from the Taxi trade? Thats an interesting intervention so why would any self respecting hackney carriage so called representative want to make changes to legislation that will have an adverse effect on the way hackney carriage drivers operate?

Since when has the hackney carriage trade discussed proposals from an outside organisation who needs its help to change legislation in order that it can deprive and shackle the very people whose assistance it seeks.

At times your mind takes a sojourn into cloud cuckoo land. You are yet another one who in the past has supported these changes along with Mr Casey. Perhaps you two can dig up some of your old posts on TDO and remind us just why we need to take a backward step?

Did I suggest such a thing? Just concentrate on what I say and respond appropriately, such childish comments do not enhance any remnants of credibility you might retain?

Quote:
Do you think people who run radio circuits need to be licensed or should they be free to be or employ every Tom, Dick and Cat Burgler?

Since when has the moral judgment been placed on your shoulders to decide who gets what? Shouldn't your sole concern be for the best interests of hackney carriage drivers? Oh I forgot you don't represent hackney carriage drivers?

Have you explained to your membership that because you are so concerned that councillors will not be able to vet those persons who run hackney carriage radio circuits that you are going to make it an offence for every hackney carriage driver in the country who takes private bookings from home or anywhere else for that matter? Oh! I forgot to mention the undefined contradictory amendment to section 80. Whoever dreamed that up deserves a medal.

It might be wise if you concentrated on the well being of the hackney carriage trade and leave the licensing of private hire vehicles, drivers and operators to those who are vested with that task.
