How times change.

Before the council de-limited the trade wanted a nice easy peasy knowledge test, to get as many drivers into a few cars as possible.

Following de-limitation, the trade have this view;

One example was the issue of random street tests, which drivers had claimed were too easy.

Mr Stephen said the council had agreed to consider new software which would make the test more difficult.

Excellent service

I’VE HAD excellent service from 203020 taxis. I never have to wait long, the drivers are always smart and the cars always immaculate.
Driver Dawn looked up her map when I was unsure of my location and insisted I sat while she got out and opened the door.

Later the same day I boarded a number 73 bus from Monifieth with a cheery driver and conductress who were helpful and courteous. These things make a journey more comfortable. — Lorrette Lorente, Dundee.

Errm Driver Dawn looked at a map when I was unsure of my location?

I boarded a bus later???? with a conductress

Can anyone tell me if Fat Sams nightclub has a freephone to the base of the Dundee taxi cab company and if the freephone is placed on a wall for public use or if it is controlled by staff from behind a reception desk?

If they don't have a free phone can someone advise me how they book private hire cars from the base and finally can someone advise me if private hire cars are continually ranked outside Fat Sams nightclub on any night of the week when the club is open, or perhaps even when it isn't open?

Regards

JD

THe PH are not ranked it is a private bit of land which 203020 lease and use as a city centre base for the PH cars to return to.

This I can tell you does not break any rules regarding PH the real problem is a vendetta led by low life men who are trying to con the Hackney trade into following them.

At the first meeting it was stated the attendance was 500,second meeting 250,third meeting 100 where have they all gone.

THe fact we now have 71 less Hackney cars plying their trade is a very big bonus .

A very interesting point, guy's who have recently got wheelchair plates and are supporting this stupid crusade should remember who objected to their applications....was it Dave Young OR THE DANGEROUS DUO Thorson, Stephens.

I was under the impression an unofficial rank was being maintained outside this nightclub, obviously thats wrong? Why don't you hacks apply for a rank outside the nightclub or does an official rank already exist?

there is a part-time official hackney rank outside fat sams, only a pavement is in between the yard and the rank..!and what old hack fails to inform you is that these PH'S exit this yard with their illegal hire by way of a welded ramp then use a dropped wheelchair access pavement onto the road and then take their chances that no other vehicle is entering the said road from the roundabout thats 20ft away !!!

a couple of ponits dundee cabbies have neglegted to mention, the official hack rank at fat sams holds4 maybe 5 taxis, there is usualy 20 taxis parked here which means 15 are illegal, the parked taxis go right past the entrance/exit of the 203020 compound,a space is left between the parked hacks to let them in and out,on leaving their compound they have to edge their way out as their vision is restricted by the illegally parked hacks,
its only a matter of time before one of their cabs pulls out in front of another vehicle,no doubt the illegally parked hack will be surprised when he gets pulled in by the council over this, the dta etc should get some money from the cabbies and pay someone to stand and video the punters coming out of fat sams and getting into the phs,but they should let all cabbies know in advance so we dont get caught out parking illegally,(i do it myself)incidently the owner of fat sams bruce linton also owns 505050 taxis the third biggest taxi company in dundee,i wonder how the operators who pay him£75 bucks a week feel when they are sitting at fat sams watching puntters getting into ph cabs?
