Skippy you are obviously new to the trade or forgot when Dundee City Council sent out letters stating all vehicles to be wheelchair accessible by 1st January 2012,this was discussed by all bodies and it was agreed the council would monitor how things developed over the coming years.

So I'm still a novice after 27 years of being an owner driver

The council has got it all wrong, there has been no written legislation or laws made that states that all taxis must be WAV by 2012 anywhere in the whole of the UK, so anyone wishing to put on a saloon may do so and if the council refuse this request challenge it through the courts

There is however best practice guidance for taxis going through the Scottish parliament at the moment and the outcome should be known in the new year

Skippy your obviously not a Dundee Hack,my apologies but I can confirm we were all issued letters some years ago regarding the DDA act.

As for the type of vehicle used you may be aware this was challenged in Aberdeen recently and the case was lost.

The appeal is due at the court of session on the 20th of this month.

The council cannot just introduce an all wav policy without consultation, and if they did how many would be out of a job, how many could afford 22k for an E7, the TX4 is off the menu as its fecking dangerous, the diablo will be for ever in the gararge getting fixed.
So start fighting now not next year
Had my DOBLO for 3 years..no problems.....car payments finished....that now goes away for state of the art PURPOSE BUILT WAV........Changing For The Future.........Old Hack, just move over & give the young cabbies a crack at this-I'm sure you will have been chapping on from the early 80's-MOVE OVER !!!

Eric and his mates must be laughing into their beers they took the trade for mugs by using 203020 as cover knowing the council would go down this road..........Thanks Eric the Red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your going to have to dig out your old vid of the Italian job so you can learn the new chant for the terraces.
But at 6mill for an Iti that could be out of a job after 5 games and still have to pay him the full amaount now thats an Italian job

I hope Mr Wilson wins the appeal then all councils will have to sit up and take notice

I see that 203020 were given planning permission for the Fat Sam central site at last night's planning meeting.

Strange how our esteemed leadership have suddenly dissappeared!!!!!!!!!!

i see there were three other buisnesses up for planning permission,
hillcrest housing-new hq denied
ladbrokes-new shop denied
t mobile-phone mast denied
maybe davy landed lucky
reading the press mr young said (he had initially recieved professional advice that no planning approval was required for the site and ,as soon as he learned otherwise ,he had taken the relevant steps) :?:
i thought that removing the 203020 signs and telling the private hire cabs to stop parking there untill permission was given would have been a relevant step, but aparantly not
