London Minicabs have 'won' the right to stop on red routes to let a passenger off or pick one up.

They already, as everyone else does, had the right to stop in the facilities provided on the Red Route network.

To avoid confusion. This is NOT the right to access Bus lanes during their hours of operation.

The result? Two more stickers which tell the neighbours your Mercedes is actually a rented Minicab. :D

Despite a certain cretin from the GMB claiming it was his victory, this stopping right was negotiated by Steve Wright of the LHPCA, a word the other clown would do well to learn.

The signs can be seen in this link:

Why don't the PCO just forward their details to the tax office when they apply to be a mini cab?

They don't have to display this sign, do they? The ones who are not minicabs are not bothered about stopping on Red Routes, they just want to swerve the Congestion Charge, the others will just use it to give them another badge of respectability when they're touting.

I would be amazed if the income tax folks don't have a list of all licensed PH drivers in London.

I can't possibly condone your last comment.

Interesting point about the tinted glass though, still, it's their money . .
