just past my knowledge and hackney driving test and waiting for my crp, looking at potential hackney vehicles and council states that any new vehicles must be no older than 3yrs. I'm in pickle in what to choose as every type of hackney vehicle seems to have faults according to reviews, is the tx4 that bad? does tx2 06 have fewer probs than early tx2's, E7 seems to have problems with the door coming off? Is the nissan NX8 any good, please help any advice much appreciated. :?

What will the council allow???, do you have to have a WAV.
have a look at this site
www.thetaxicentre.com.
Or go to this sites main page and you will find all the links to taxi sales.
There have been no reports as yet about the new E7 as the door design has been changed

Any lti or conversion i.e e7,vw,merc no older than 3years and also any licenced hackney already plated that someone is willing to sell but ironically the fairways and tx1's (the good cabs) knowones willing to sell.

Originally thought about buying brand new tx4 but due to the feed back on this site and a big outlay, probably looking at 2nd hand one i,e 06 tx2 maybe e7 but again knowone seems positive about either vehicles thats why i wondered about the nissan nx8 hackney due to nissan engines being good, but seems to be no reviews/feedback on them

If it was the best car in the world I wouldn't recommend any newbie spending £35,000 on a motor. :?

It might be worth looking at the new E7, if they have sorted the door it will be the best out of all of them.
