I worked for an office for 8yrs and was giving this ultimatum by the chief director...
" Get out of your association..or get out the office ! " The association in question is a Taxi Association and is recognised by the Council and holds a seat at liasion level. I of course chose to leave the office....
Q. What if any, human rights / employees rights have been broken here ??

Dissapointed but not Dis-hearted

Maybe your association should join a union.

Then the mush giving you the ultimatum will think twice.

Or just go tell him to f*** off and join another firm.

If you are self employed, you have very few rights under employment law.

Effectively you hire the office, not the other way round.

If being a member of this association is the only reason to terminate your contract (you have a contract with them, even if it's only verbal), there may be a case for breach of contract.

Sounds long and expensive, with no guarantee of success.
