Can somebody help with a peice of info..Our council in Guildford took the decision to delimit here in 2004,by 2009 we all have to replace our vehicles with wheelchair accessible vehicles when the plate licence expires,but we have been handed an age limit on the vehicles ie: no older than 3 years from the date of manufacture,can live with that but we are only to keep for max period of ten years.We currentley have 2 tx1 (xreg)that are in very good condition it seems a shame that these cabs are going to meet an early ending.I could understand if they had ripped seats etc and were old bangers but they are seeing out most of the tx 2 we have here, is this something worth pleading with the council with or maybe wasted breath.

Just had a look at your rules, and found the fee's FFS how can they charge that amount for a new drivers badge and all the other charges on top even the cab licence is OTT

There is also the other thing and that is only the secretary of state can decide what vehicles must be licenced and as he has not said anything yet your council is jumping the gun

I will be surprised if your council doesn't end it's written policies with the words 'normally' or 'in most cases'. In other words the council can't set in stone any policy.

So ask your council to allow those vehicles to stay on as there is no good reason to bin them. Contact your licensing committee chair and get them to understand your issues.
