Just in case I lose this case number again, I'm posting it here.

Newcastle V Berwick CO/6448/2007

There is no movement on this case as yet and as I previously mentioned if it was granted a hearing then the courts informed me that it would likely be heard at the end of the year. We now know it has been granted a hearing so all we have to do is wait?

Regards

JD

On the news tonight it was stated that Scotland wants Berwick back... I have also read that it is to be combined with other councils.... to become one ..... I wonder which will happen first . a court case... but will the councils still exist..??

I think you might find the amalgamation of these five councils is going to be far easier than Berwick rejoining Scotland. I believe the council Merger is due to happen no later than next year so I think any talk of Berwick jumping into bed with Scotland is a little bit of wishful thinking.

The councils amalgamating have differing licensing policies and different licensing officers.

What will be pivitol is the appointment of the LO and the policies they recommend to be introduced.

As a interested party, with a major stakeholding, I would expect to be involved in that decision.

Now isn't that good news.

It's age you know, I forget words from time to time.
My wife is fed up of me referring to sweetcorn as little yellow things!!!!

Best of luck with the case numbers! :D

Well it might be age with you but the reason I posted it in here is because of convenience. I wrote it down quite some time ago and when you have as many papers floating around as I do then some are bound to get displaced. That's the reason I posted the case log in here.

By the way, the next time I have your wife over for an aperitif I'll tell her to go easy on you.

Regards

JD

We know the players in this circus but here is an insight into the Ringmaster.

Acting deputy high court judge Christopher Symonds QC, who specialises in the field of "Insurance".

Lets see what he makes of Taxi licensing legislation.

Its a reserved judgement so it could take weeks or even months? I doubt this deputy judge will interfere with the judgement of Collins and Silber in the Gladen case considering Collins is the leading judge in the administrative court.
