And thousands more have got private hire plates................. and on this forum there are many people crying about their weekly takings going down....

Tell me... just out of curiosity.... are all the private hire and hackney companies in Brighton on the same rate...

That usually has diddly-squat to do with vehicle numbers and everything to do with the economic climate.

I wonder how many members of the NPHA were consulted on this anti-driver policy?

Or are the NPHA the English version of Zanu-PF.

I can confirm that the firm that I work for are a member of the NPHA, in the past 10 months we have been consulted on zero occasions.

Are you saying that the NPHA consult their membership through their paper? Do they have meetings of their membership? Do they vote on issue's?

I don't think so. However it would be interesting to know what democratic process it uses to elect those in charge?

Or is it just a one man band operation where no one has any voting rights other than the band leader?

Regards

JD

Well if that is true, this band leader has an almighty say in the trade for a one man band!

So the GMB are now trying to discredit Brian Rowlands.... first it was the NTA... then it says the drivers in Brighton cannot be trusted.. and now it's Brian Rowland's..... Oh with the threat of de-reg.. thrown in for good measure.......

I suspect you are right I've always wondered why a National private hire association would sometimes say and do things that are pro hackney carriage and contrary to the interests of private hire drivers?

Am I the only one who has observed those tendencies?

There is no question that the person at the helm is proficient but what section of the Taxi trade does the organisation represent?

Regards

JD

I don't think Mr BB was trying to discredit Mr Rolands, he is asking a pertinent question. Why don't you supply the answers and then he and we will all be a lot wiser.

I think you'll find that the association represents both private hire and hackney members
