The Scorpion and the Frog

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion says, "Because if I do, I will die too."

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp "Why?"

Replies the scorpion: "It's my nature..." :-|

A talking frog? Wow.

Actually, this parable has its origins in the Middle East, with the scorpion asking to be carried across the Nile.

But WTF has it to do with this thread?

You’ve all been caught up in Mr. T’s woolly sentimentality. Yes, I bet Mr. T felt great with the birth of another grandchild, but can a leopard really change its spots? I don’t think so somehow … a moment of being washed away in a tide of emotion more like - the same goes for the rest of you.

I am more than happy to congratulate Mr. T on the knew addition to his family, and I mean that most sincerely, but turn my back, I don’t think so somehow . …

I was hoping someone would ask that very question.

Now Jimbo, if you were the frog and Mr. T the scorpion, would you give the scorpion a ride across the river on your back?

This question is open to the rest of you frogs.

How many of you, would give Mr. T (the Scorpion) a ride on his back to the other bank ?

Remember, the Scorpion has just become a granddad, again, now does that make him a frog? :D

We took it down. It had served its purpose. The argument in Edinburgh has been won for a long time. I've yet to speak to a driver that doesn't want the option to own a taxi without the 50K price tag.

Have a look on fasties, it's all but dried up. The new administrator has fecked the forum completely. :-|

Sorry Mr. T, all of a sudden everyone has lost their sentimentality.

No trips to the otherside of the river for you ma'lad

I don’t have to take mind altering drugs to know that people like you really do exist. Although sometimes I do have to pinch myself after reading your posts, just to make sure I'm not dreaming. :D
