Apparently, going by jims opening post, the guilty cabby didn't call him a black c***, he called him a *country of origin* (what I prosume to be Indian, chinese or Pakistani) c*** which was probably shortened to [edited by admin], chinky or possibly the N word. If these where the actual comments then yes, that is racist. And the matter of being a c*** is subjective. Whilst one person believes another is acting in a c*ntish way, doesn't mean that the other person believes he is acting a C*** but may actually believe the other is. In a way they're both being c***s
No I don't believe someone should be given immunity by pulling the race card. Both parties where possibly in the wrong to some degree to bring about this argument so neither shoul be let off lightly. But again, without the proper statement of facts on how the discussion went down, well never know who said what and in what circumstances. Was it an escalated debate or did the cabby throw the derogatory comment out when the driver took a wrong turn?
I honestly don't know if i made a complaint of an ethnic minority individual calling me a racial slur if it would get the police/ courts full attention. I believe it should but honestly don't know. Again it could be circumstantial! If I made the complaint about an argument we had the. I doubt it, but if it was in the context of say a fist fight, perhaps it might
But remember, the cabby isn't being punished by the law twice. He's being punished by 2 different sets of people. The law and the authorities that decide if he is fight to hold a license
I'll Leave you with another example, the tv/radio presenter Richard Bacon used to host Blue Peter until he was caught on a night out with drugs. The police arrested him & prosecuted him. The CONSEQUENCE of this was his employers at the BBC sacking him. 2 punishments by 2 different sets of people for the same crime
You see Lonshanks, once again you miss the point. Let's take the word serf, for instance. I would apply this word to anyone driving a taxi, Caucasion or Coloured. I've already made the point, being white and driving a taxi is the new black and that being said, less than Caucasian gives you diplomatic immunity, should you choose to pull the race card. (Oh and Longshanks, you are delusional, if you think any claim from you of racism would be taken seriously by the police.)
Am I being racist for calling you a serf?
Oh and there's a big difference, being sacked by your employer for some indiscretion or petty criminal offence, and having your licence suspended by a bunch of scumbag councillors with a political agenda to fulfill.
Oh and once again, due to your dissociation you've missed the still serving police officers with their serious offences. I don't see any councillors deciding their lively hoods.

"Scotland’s eight police forces admitted having 333 officers who are guilty of serious offences – and the true figure could be higher because not all data was revealed."
It's amazing to think, you are happy to be treated as a second-class citizen.
